I just installed Eve Online and am pretty excited to start playing. There's one problem though... The launcher keeps freezing on me!

Every time I open the launcher whether the launchers safe mode or using the normal launcher the launcher freezes as soon as it opens and brings up the login screen where I would normally type in my password. Basically everything looks normal except when I go to click on the dang window, like say in the password field where I would type in my password, the launcher just freezes and my computer wants to close the program.

I've gotten the launcher to open Eve one time so far and that was after maybe 30 attempts. Then the game crashed after about 30 minutes and now it wont open again. I've tried opening it well over 30 times again. I'm wondering if I should reinstall the game except I went through the repair tool and it said everything was fine? Maybe it's my laptop that I'm using?

I have an intel core i5 2.53 ghz processor with 6 gb of ram and an onboard intel HD video card running windows 7.

Any suggestions?

Go to the EVE folder and locate repair.exe, run that. Might help.

Yes, yes I am. Thanks for noticing.

Hi,

You can you bypass the launcher by running /eve/bin/exefile.exe

If that works, maybe someone with experience with launcher issues can help you troubleshoot further. If you've got a subscribed account, there's a specific forum for technical issues as well.

You can also try re-installing the launcher with eve/launcher/cache/updater.exe

Make a shortcut to it on the desktop, you'll need it a lot :-)

Solecist Project...." They refuse to play by the rules and laws of the game and use it as excuse ..." " They don't care about how you play as long as they get to play how they want."

Welcome to EVE.

Do note that you should only click the 'launch' icon only once no matter how much it looks like you need to click it again because game takes about 20seconds to load by which time the laucher begins loading one game per click by the time first one has actually loaded ...

I've sometimes ended up with 2-3 extra copies of eve when accidentally double clicking the launch icon.
