Well, not really. I survived thanks to the Concord police and a rapid warp out. As I was leaving, the ship was destroyed. I immediately came back, however, the capsule was gone. Is there any way the capsule can be locked into place longer or buff the Procurer more so it can countergank the gankers?

...wow.

Anyway, if you actually bother to stay on grid instead of warping away, you can lock and scram their pod. If you haven't fit a scram or a disruptor, tough luck.

And as for the Procurer, the answer is hell no. That thing is better than some T1 cruisers already, which is disgusting considering it's in a non combat ship class.

It's interesting you bring that up. For years I wondered about how easy it was to kill an industrial with dessies on small guns. I likened this to having a car with some friends in it, all armed with pistols and being able to blow up a garbage truck in 2 seconds. It seemed rather odd to be able to take out a large ship with a small one so fast.

(also rather odd for small ships to be able to web a larger one, or have enough power to warp scramble a larger ship)

I suppose further logic taken along the aspect of size disparity might garner more complaints in the future. I don't have a dog in that fight really and could take or leave any pro and con argument. Has this been more widely debated?

If you have a good buffer tank, you can stay on grid.

You can pod the ganker if a few conditions are met. You need to have your drones out and hope he's not paying attention because he assumed you'd blow up.

It won't happen often but if you manage it you can link the killmail in local every time he's in system. There is nothing more shameful than being podded by a miner.

Fit more tank, a point, and a single combat drone. Lock pod, peck to death.

Herzog, it's less analogous to a pistol, if you ask me.

Blasters, even little ones, are fairly serious weaponry if you look at how the pseudo science behind them works(I say pseudo because, while this technology does actually exist, much like lasers it is not easy to weaponize with Earth's current tech level). Ones aproximate to the size we use in EVE can, in real life (the United States Navy has a few real railguns that have tested extensively) obliterate a main battle tank even if it does have reactive armor.

So, good luck to the garbage truck.

The purpose of the Procurer is specifically to guard against attacks, for which it sacrifices yield and ore hold vs. the Retriever. It's meant to be a tough nut to crack, even impossible in high-sec.

To OP: you can always switch out some low slots with damage controls or plating but at that point I think the yield loss is way too much (because you lose the MLUs). But it takes a very concerted effort to take out a Proc in high-sec, and suicide gankers can always just go hunt down a Retriever for an easy kill.

As for the pods, it'd be very hard for a Proc to lock on before they warped away, but the result would also be very amusing.

Was it a lone destroyer attacking?
If it was and you've properly fitted your Procurer, your shields will hold and you may also use drones to rip the destroyer to shreds by the time CONCORD arrives.

You really don't want to pod anybody unless you're ready for a life changing experience. You'll end up just like these people here in GD. Do you really want that? Think of all your mother tried to do for you! Think of your dog! Your cat! Anybody that CARES.

Then, pull that trigger.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

It was two destroyers. I ran since last time I was attacked, I got podded. (Didn't want to re-experience it.) I didn't even noticed they were podded until after I started to warp out.

I do have to say though there was just something about destroying one of the capsules that filled me with such warm feelings. (I chased after one of them to see if I could destroy it.)

Given the align speed of a Procurer, I am curious as to how you chased and caught a pod, which aligns and warps instantly.

The only real way is if you were chasing someone of considerable inexperience.

Congratulations, you just "griefed" a new player, lol.

[edit: Lol what? That kill... O_o

Nice!
Am I reading the linked report wrong or did that guy throw away a battlecruiser?

I've got a noob question... when concorded is the pilot able to warp the pod away or is it that some simply choose not to?

Yes, you can warp off, and have ample time to.

I think it was a training mission since the other guy's character was just made today. I got to be the lucky "victim".

someone made the decision that bigger is better makes for poor game play. I tend to agree with that decision.

- It is impossible to be solo ganked in high-sec in this thing... at least, not without being VERY unprofitable and/or troublesome for the gankers.
- It can kill close range frigates and destroyers in low-sec.
- you have the targeting speed of a combat destroyer. This means you can target lock things fairly quickly.

Also... take some PvP lessons OP. Even if you do not like it, it will help you understand how PvPers operate and what you need to do to protect yourself (proactively) and how to fit any future ships of yours properly.
