Research jobs cost now 2.9 bil to research 1% of ME ????

Is it a bug or feature that to research a Rorqual BPO ME +1% in 0.5 system, the job cost is 2.9 bil ISK ?
To research +2% of PE on the same Rorqual BPO, on the same system, job cost is 3.6 bil ISK.

I'm pretty sure CCP would not mind you buying and selling some plex cards to cover those costs...

Did you really pull out the BPO and find out what difference 9% -> 10% will create?

Do you know that you can hire a team to creat 2.5% saving in materials and effectively push ME to over 11% with a 9% BP?


Before Crius, how many people researched Rorqual BPO to "perfect"? Why after Crius, everybody decided to research that BPO to ME 10%, the new "perfect" ME?

I've building freighters since pre-Crius. I can tell you that I've never found a perfect freighter BPC in contract market.

2.9 billion for researching that suggests that you're in a system with an ME cost index of around 0.04 or so. (depends on if you're in a station or not) See below for a possible list of systems that blueprint might be in (as the numbers change, and my math is back of a napkin, it may be entirely wrong)

Now, if you go to a system with a better index, you can reduce that price significantly, to around 770 million.

Of course, you'll be researching that for 218 days before reductions due to teams and so on.


The security rating of a system has no effect on costs.
