New Ship Module: Tactical Decoy Device I

This is an idea for a new ship module (preemptively named 'Tactical Decoy Device I') which could be used to disguise your ship as another ship hull. For example, when fitted to your Rifter and activated it could make your ship appear to others as a Raven. This module could affect D-scan or even change listed ship-type on the overview. In effect, the module would alter your ships transponder data to squawk misleading information to others.

Potential features for this module could include:
- High Slot fitting; we really could use more utility high slot options anyways...
- Scripts; ability to change the broadcast ship type with options such as Velator, Badger, Rupture, Tengu, Raven, Archon, Rhea, Nyx, etc.
- Moderate fitting requirements enabling use on a variety of ships

If needed, potential detriments of the module could include:
- Inability to fit if a cloak is fit on your ship
- Does not affect actual ship appearance in space (look-at would reveal true ship type)

Relative to existing game play, I would expect this module to serve a function similar to renaming your Orca to 'Scorpion' as a means of potentially confusing hostiles using the D-scan tool. My hope is that this module, if implemented, would enable a whole new form of PVP game play. It could be useful offensively for baiting, defensively as a disguise, in fleet fights for disguising support ships as ships-of-the-line, or simply for the hilarity of having your shiny new Nidhoggur appear as a noobship Blink.

Thank you for reading! I look forward to hearing your comments!

Cheers,

It might cause the game to lag though when the models change.

Maybe instead of actually changing the model other players would see the ship as the ghost ship on their overview and D-Scan.

My thinking was to not change the model in game, just the ship type shown on D-scan and the overview. Interesting idea though! What if they had a snowman model script for the holidays Cool
