If deer hunters quite hunting the second they got control of their buck fever the insurance agencies would be crying tears to fill the ages.

EDIT: This was a metaphor used to support those who previously implied that you need to realign your goals so as you can find new love for your favorite game.

I have gotten adrenaline rushes every time I have been in combat....which is not very many so yes, I am sure it would hit again if I got into a fight, but sadly I will have to let my account expire for the indefinite future, so I hope you find your new fun soon.

I'm pvp'ing in wspace with a cloaky proteus and since i play solo i only feel it before engaging thinking if that ship could be a bait, but even then i minimize all the risks spending a few days in a system observing the dwellers. Then when i know their routines i attack and stay for maybe 2 days. Then i look for another system with some activity. Ofc i could do yolo engages but i prefer the patience of the hunting game and obviously to keep my t3 alive.

If you pvp with a gang, i understand why are you not having too much fun. Follow broadcasts and that's all.

Delete your hotkey functions, disconnect your mouse, and PvP using only your keyboard controls. Report back on your new adrenaline rush when doing PvP.

Maybe jump into a fight that you don't think you will win.

New player here.

I get what you mean, back in 2004 when I was playing a different online game, I always had a rush when jumping into the PvP aspect of the game. But once I started to understand the mechanics of the game and what counters what. That rush faded. Basically I could have started to guess the outcome of the match because of knowledge.

But at the moment I get that rush when just flying around in a venture while I know there is some sort of competition on killing them. Basically because I Have No Idea What I'm Doing

I'm sure once I get my feet nice and wet and start to learn the game, said rush will fade with it.

When I started playing eve, every pvp encounter was an adrenaline rush...

Now, its just click, click, click, win or lose, its all exactly the same as shooting red crosses in a mission...flavourless. i dont even bother opening wrecks anymore, unless its a juicy capital or a t3.

anyone actually managed to maintain their rush after 8+ years?

Increase the bets. Ofc you do not feel anything if you are gambling with pocket change. Put something on line which takes 10 .. 200 hours of your time to replace and it will start tingling a little. Put a week of your grind time on line and you will most likely feel the rush.

Does not need to be a super. A blinged out pirate BS in low sec might do the trick.

I used to get crazy adrenaline rushes when I first started the game, I'd have shaking hands as I warped my pirate rifter into belts and plexes - chasing my prey.

It was undeniably due to the risk and potential gain that would be decided as soon as I landed at my destination.

4-5 years later I don't feel it anymore, as odd as it may seem. I would love to give up all my wealth and experience to do it again. But this game has dulled my excitement, I can't get rid of my experience or knowledge so I can't feel that first-time excitement that was so addicting that I've spent the rest of my EVE career chasing it.

I have bitter vets disease on world of tanks. Honestly I could complain so much about premium ammo for free currency ruining armor, and luck over skill. The pro stat people also generally run specific tanks with all premium ammo and in platoons with friends. They do have specific strategies but yeah, skill DOES have a part in it, and your average player is playing a game of luck regardless.

Eve on the other hand I do get a rush. If they are shield fit (ancillaries) I know I am screwed. Otherwise I just hope for the best. Nearly killing a thorax and a Brutix with a Tristan on my own was a hell of a rush. I could have killed them both, but I am horrible at range control and the thorax was out of point range and warped out with some hull, then I went to pick up his drones and the Brutix screwed off cuz I left him out of my point range.

They both escaped because I flew out of their point range. Also letting a condor die in my navitas costed a corp mate his battle cruiser because the condor was primary and speed tanking most of the damage for me to rep him. Course I micro warped out of range.

I concentrate on one task, then get to far or get to close. We had a 3vs1 against mavlite, he was starting to run low, then I stop paying attention to range and got my rep frigate caught. We were all somewhat new when that happened, not knowing he was a pro and not even knowing off grid boosting existed.

Yeah. Ima go to sleep now lol.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?
