tl;dr: The NPE is bad. CCP should feel bad.

And this couldn't have been added to the other NPE thread still on the front page why?

Oh, that's right! You wanted to shill your article!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

The idea of a gated newbie zone, as suggested by some, isn’t all bad...

As a new player, one look at the mechanics of sovereignty warfare leaves you thinking “I should have started this game seven years ago, now there’s no chance of breaking into sov”...

If a newbie joins an alliance and gets the call to mount up and ship out to a system, they should be able to start doing that on Day One...

Take a look at the current US Navy fleet doctrines...

Player-led initiatives like OTEC, while laudable as examples of great gamesmanship...

The not inconsiderable monetary costs involved place EVE firmly into the “pay to win” genre...

this otherwise vibrant game feels very much in its death throes...

Whilst I'll read these articles, don't come onto GD and shill them. That's a monetised, profit-making site. If it can afford a staff, it can pay for adverts. It's bad enough having en24 scrubs reposting their drivel here - show a bit of class. Also, some of your remarks are so hilariously stupid, there's no way that isn't troll-bait to drive more traffic onto TMC.

Restricting 0 day old alts from posting topics might help... but, guess what. Topic locked by NPC alt derailment.

Yeah I read that and substantially agreed with your insights.

There are some nuances of interpreation I could quibble with as a matter of fact, but in this case interpretation is the more important thing.

The only real thing I'd take issue with - and this is as much to do with the way EVE is presented as your perception - is that nullsec isn't "the" endgame, only "one of" the endgames.

Besides, that article was very obviously NOT written by a new player. More likely by someone jumping the current bandwagon and collecting readers by pretending the same stuff that was written over and over again the last months was now written by a "newb" too, to make it appear more relevant or interesting - or probably a desperate move to attract interest from CCP itself. Well, hope never dies.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.
