Why are enemies of the amarr empire (gallente/minimatar militiamen) allowed to dock in amarr military starbases?

Why are pirates with serious negative sec status allowed to dock in amarr military starbases?

For instance, right now there is a gallente militiaman from the fed defense union docked up in a 24th imperial crusade base in sasiekko. (high sec).

Navy forces hunt them as soon as they enter our territory, afaik. So why are they allowed to dock up here? I could maybe understand neutral bases or player corp bases that want to harbour the enemy, but our own military forces just open the doors to let the enemy in? Surely this is an oversight or something? Cause this seems, quite frankly, dumb as ****.

So is attacking the Jove, it's an Amarr thing.

Also, AFAIK at least in low-sec militia pilots can't dock in systems that have been captured by the enemy.

That is precisely right.

There's a lot of things in EVE that doesn't really make any sense though.. You'd think the entire enemy empire locked you out if part of a hostile militia.. could be an oversight I suppose but I would dare say if something hasn't been fixed in a hotpatch a week later, it's a feature and won't be fixed, unless it randomly becomes the main theme of an expansion someday.

It's true, there are a bunch of things that don't make a lot of sense (like rats shooting you if you engage a mission runner). Strictly speaking I don't think the Amarr are at war with the Gallente though...

Not directly, however they are because Gallente have an alliance with Minmatar who are just rebelious slaves that belong to the Empire.

This wasn't an oversight. There was A LOT of arguing back and forth a couple years ago when Faction War was revamped... but it was ultimately decided to be left as it is so that it would not be unreasonably hard for militia pilots to stage an attack in enemy high-sec.

The same kind of thinking is applied to people with terrible sec-status. The odds are stacked against them (Faction Police attack them in any ship if they sit still for too long) and people can legally attack them anywhere, anytime in space... but they are not outright prevented from doing what they want to do if they are willing to accept these risks/obstacles.

Now...

[drill sergeant voice]

Welcome to Faction Warfare maggot!!!

Let's get a few things clear... by enlisting in Faction War you are joining a global WAR DECLARATION that knows no borders and leaves no one safe!

Do you feel safe you nancy boy? Well you ARE NOT SAFE! You are a target twenty four hours a day... seven days a week... unless you lose your nerve and quit like the sissy you are!

You think high-sec protects you? You think you can do what you want behind the warm soft blanket of the Faction Navy? Well think again!!

Lemme introduce you to a MEAN sucker... someone who proved that you are never safe! That if someone wants something dead, he makes it DEAD!! His name is JALMON!!!

Many a mission runner and hauler have met their end at the hands of this sumbitch!! What does he do? He sits and waits in enemy territory til enlisted men such as yourself feel all WARM and comfortable... then BAM!!! He comes like the wrath of GOD HIMSELF and ENDS YOU!

HOW does he do it! WHY does he do it? Cause the great men and women of CEE CEE PEE decided that all should be vulnerable no matter where they are... ESPECIALLY when they are at WAR!!

Awwwwww... did you get killed by someone like Jalmon? Did you think that war is only supposed to happen in certain places and not in others?
Well you are WRONG son!! War is WAR!!!

Now suck it up and take it like a MAN! Or better yet... go out and kill the ******* that is pinning you down!

Don't have the power to do it yourself you say? Can't match someone who put thought and effort into their tactics? Well GOOD NEWS!!! You ain't alone son!!! You got other soldiers like you!! They can shoot those clever bastards like YOU!

Now strap yourself in a frigate you price of amphibian **** and LET ME SEE YOUR WAR FACE!!!!!

[/drill sergeant voice]

edit: for full disclosure, Jalmon has retired from FW. But he still has a special place in our hearts for the all the wonderfully blingy ships he killed. ♥
