High Security Anomolies - Dread Guristas Loot Table - Why God?

Just out of curiosity, why did CCP nerf officer and faction spawns so much? Was it an over populated activity?
Did it negatively affect the market values of rare items as they become more popular?

It's just a case of rare things being rare, and loot tables in the starter area being terrible. Standard MMO fair if you ask me, whether you have 1/1000 chance for a drop or have to roll for random boss gear in your average themepark. It makes sense the drops/chances increase when you dip in "higher level" areas in those games, so extending that to Eve it makes sense low and null have better drops/chances. At least up to a point where I'd still run a 3/10 in lowsec for the chance to get a 30m Cruiser goodie, and completely ignore hisec.

8 years!? Heck I was done with hisec anoms after 8 weeks. Lol Well, at least you are persistant so you have that going for you which is nice. I only clear them occasionally when moving fitted ships around, and my going rate is about 1 implant per year from the Faction spawns at the end. But if it's those mods you want, I definately recommend Combat Signatures over Anomalies.

I don't bother with anomalies because it's just bad but high sec combat sites can do and pay really well. You can make 250-500 mil a day if you do them right. No bragging, no joke. RNG still happens of course; some days you get nothing, then 3 days in a row a bill.

And to be fair to CCP this could be why they nerfed it.

If people can spam anoms for 3 weeks and get enough loot to make 800 mil and a Plex they will. While I am motivated by the loot and the prospect of using the loot, I am a small minority in EVE. Most simply see it as a means to an end. It would be nice to see a skill or implant that eliminated trial spamming from the loot tables.

Yet another potential use for those useless Criminal Dog tags. "Here is a Shadow Serpentis Copper tag, Mr. Agent". Agent offers me a mission with benefits. One that requires the Criminal Dog tags being turned in for missions and an Advanced Social skill not available to trial accounts but maybe I'm dreaming.

Is anyone sure CCP has nerfed the drops or is it just a case of bad RNG streak?

Personally I haven't had a single faction drop from DEDs since Crius dropped (normally get at least something from every 1 or 2 DED 3 or 4 sites, even if it has little value) and that could be just me being unlucky but I'm hearing the same from the other combat explorers I chat to in both high and low Sad

+1 for the idea of burning tags in missions, I like that a lot.

I've had 2 in 7 years.

Got the 1st one In Fountain and I was super happy. Damn thing *only* dropped about 1.2 bil worth of loot but I was fine with that. So, not having a carrier back then I stuffed it all into a covops and set out for Empire. Made it to that last low sec system before high sec and warped to the out gate.

It was there that I had my very 1st experience with a smart bombing Rokh...... Good news is that none of the officer loot dropped lol.

Cool idea this!

They used to have 'Ship logs' drop too and I wonder if the Dog Tags weren't always meant to be content mechanisms. If they were seen as digital dog tags, they could be decrypted by agents to reveal hidden locations. (missions to us) Done properly, new players could be introduced to it too. A single training version tag could be rewarded in the introductory mission that can be turned in to an SOE agent leading to the SOE Arc. An agent who would explain that normally they wouldn't do this sort of thing without proof the Capsuleer was a certified NPC bounty hunter or something maybe? Leading to the NPC Bounty Hunter skill book that allows full accounts to make use of those tags.
