If I use cost index, I can see immidiately, where in 0.0 ppl use their POSes. For example, if I want to kill some POS in OUTER RING, I do not need to browse through entire region, looking for some. Now I can see
NAME MANUF TE res ME res Copy REV Invention
VJ0-81 0.66% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10%
0-9UHT 0.62% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10%
VBFC-8 0.37% 1.62% 0.94% 0.90% 0.10% 0.99%
A2V6-6 0.26% 0.82% 0.58% 0.22% 0.10% 0.18%
NM-OEA 0.10% 1.55% 1.40% 0.10% 0.10% 0.10%

systems have cost values, different from base 0.10%. So it is clear, that someone put his POS in those systems.

Before Crius you could try to find moon in non-populated null region and hope it will stay hidden long enough to bring you at least some profit. Now this ninja-industry is killed...

Only if that POS is being used for manufacturing, invention, or research. Moon-goo and reaction POSes, which from my understanding are the real profit draws of nullsec, don't impact the cost index and thus remain safely hidden.

Good job sharing a new tactic for finding targets though. I'm sure it will come in handy....

I didn't realize this. It doesn't strike me as a bad thing either.

I'm sure someone out there is writing a script to pull that info, compare today vs. yesterday, could be a rough indicator for POS offlining or running out of fuel Twisted

Not necessarily. Cost index is based on number of jobs installed, not number of jobs running. If they're doing any kind of serious research or manufacturing (as in, lucrative enough to be a target), they're likely doing long jobs so you'd only see spikes in the cost index sporadically.
