No, just making revenge more accessible and boosting bounty hunting. Other parts of eve are being made more accessible. When people whine on the forums about ganking, they can place a decent bounty and make the killright public.

I got ganked, not by a -10, I made the killright public and free and it was used within 24 hours :)

I believe bounty hunting happens, but it involves tracking and planning, not so much opportunity (in empire)

OP probably doesn't know you don't need to activate a killright to freely shoot at -5 and below.

Actually i do, and the person who ganked me was not -5 or below, only flashing from aggression. after i died. horribly.

Looked up my loss, guy was -4.1.

To clarify the idea a bit:

You will be able to see if the person has a publicly available killright, or maybe even just that someone has one on the person. mechanics regarding -5+ and agression stays the same. *sigh*

You notice someone grinding missions, hauling or doing something menial and the person has a killright on him. you can then quickly buy it (if the price is right, bounties are a plus) - and yay! you get to gank someone legally, in *his* shiny because actions of the past.

You can do this now, but it's a hassle - Hence the "available killright" icon.

Better yet, why not just remove names and there ability to link subsequent char bio from local all together? Just have the counters for pod pilots and dusties, and maybe counters for various tags (maybe even set them to have various levels of delayed update based on what tags each char in system is). This way, people can still know when wartargets show up in system and you cut back on the whole "local free intel" issue.

what would help with suicide ganking is a t2 armor freighter. has same capacity as jump freighter. much much stronger health (like 400 catalysts). cost about the same as a jump freighter. And immune to cargo scans.

This preserves risk vs reward as it means you could get a huge payday as well as a nice kill mail. but you risk a lot of ships on possibly nothing but the kill mail. And you have to actually organise doing this before hand ALOT.

Boom problem solved. Cheap t1 freighter - T2 armour and T2 jump freighters with cost and skill requirements. Still not safe but you can haul with a lot less pure greif. Greifers want awesome kills or a huge payday they have to invest in organising more people or ships that cost more to get higher alpha. Also there will always be a cheap skate who flys a t1 freighter with to much isk in.
