ok I will come back in a year. but if i am still bored I demand some huge ass asteroid belts that we have fleet fights in and have to actually pilot around and maybe some nebulae that limit lock range that randomly float through systems.

So it's really mainly your fault for not going out and creating or just finding those things right now, as predicted.

I honestly think the devs have a paddling pool in the office somewhere full of cash that they role around in whenever someone slaggs them off on the forums.

I'm ok with this.

err keep buying the crap sandbox line from ccp as much as you want. Yea great i can go pvp in a fleet every night for 9 years.
and some 1 could escalate it or we could do a hero RR tank vs twice the numbers. But it's always the same variables.
Yes it's great we can all go "MAKE EVENT'S" but thats like saying you can host a tea party in the desert. Sure EVERY ONE could come. And sure it COULD be great and we all make it amazing by having lulz.

BUT would that same scenario not be better in a Desert where there was a Theme park.

Or another better example paintballing. Lets go paintballing at a indoor warehouse thats empty. Has a door each end and a big circle in the middle of walls 6ft high. only One team is allowed in. (simiualtes station or pos) Then maybe 4 -7 tiny little walls around.

Great fun for the first 10 or so times you go. OR if you do it once a year. BUT Boring after the first 10 times you go in a month.
Now imagine if the walls moved and random smoke generation happened and from time to time a third party strolled onto the scene shooting everyone using it's advanced wormhole AI OR if parts of the floor moved up and down.

my point. The sandbox is dull as **** if its just sand. Hence why we grow out of them as kids and start playing paintball.

Thank you, I will, because it's not so much a “crap line” as an “accurate description of the game and of a game I want”.

No, because the park rentacops would start bludgeoning you the instant you went off the script of the event you're taking part of. Or if you littered. Or hadn't brought enough tokens for the ride.

How is an example that has nothing in common with EVE “better”?

So pick up a spade and bucket. There are tons of them lying around.

Yes many mechanics in EvE online are broken, but star citizen is basically a vaporscamware. You monthly sub give you access to chat rooms, all the forum drama and the spaceship mini game. What do you get for giving money to SC's nth "stretch goals"?

Listen, at least CCP focuses on the important things. They stopped deleting boot.ini without specifying an appropriate path, that HAS to be worth something. How about the fact that I'm not posting this as a member of CCP, aren't you glad that they fixed the forums so that I can't? How about that time prefer safest actually routed through shortest and all those freighters died? They fixed that too. Don't hate CCP they're just busy fixing **** they broke in the first place.

This is once again kind of the thing that annoys me. They add all these shiny spades to the sandbox that you can build all these deeply flawed sand castles with that in no way create terrible gameplay. But the actual sandbox is the same as it was.
SANDBOXES ARE NOT GREAT THINGS when they are not added to or altered. They are just the same damn box year on year you do slightly different versions of the same stuff in. What is awesome is when the sandbox gets extended with a paddling pool or a water slide or a climbing wall

Then you can do all those fun sandbox things and take your bucket fill it with water and go dump it on some one else's sandcastle they built before the paddling pool was put in. also zombie army men that rise from the depths of the sandbox to kick you out of their natural habitat and crap over the sandcastle you built in their sandbox. (IE why do npc still allow people to rat their ships then dock up in their stations or put pos up in their systems)

You don't build those things in a sandbox. You hire outside professionals to build them. Well good ones any way.
Even DIY ones you don't build in the sandbox. You build them around the sandbox. Do you know nothing about children's playgrounds? Pirate

Ah, so you want a themepark instead of a sandbox, so you dont need to make sandcastles, have someone build them for you, then you can run around inside them?

I was a Star Citizen Kickstarter backer over a year and a half ago. So far I've gotten to look at a model of my spaceship and about 100 emails advertising more spaceships I can buy.

Eve Online is not only a successful MMO, it is one of the longest lasting, with developers that set a standard for the way developers should interact with their communities. There have been constant content releases and updates, so much so that I hardly recognize parts of the game from a decade ago. The sandbox theme is unorthodox for an MMO but still something that many games have tried to imitate and that future titles are trying to imitate. It's not for everyone, evidently you are one of those, but many find it enjoyable and Eve has never pretended to be anything but what it started out as.

CCP spent a lot of money on various successful disastrous ventures:

DUST and World of Darkness

Nowadays, development of Valkyrie and Legion are funded by EVE Online income.

DUST and WoD were not successful. That is why the first one will quietly be dropped as soon as possible, and the second has already been canned.
