Its sort of relative. I bought PLEX for under 750 mill overnight on a speculative low market buy and thought it was a bargain.

Whether that stay a bargain by tomorrow is not 100% predictable, it may be dropping back under 700 mill or maybe skyrocketing backup to the 900 mill mark (unlikely with a 10% PLEX sale on though).

Well I PLEXed 3 accounts for 2 years from FW earnings and a few buddy invites. This ran out a couple of months ago. I get the sporadic buddy invite upgrade and if I feel like it's been a good month, I might buy one PLEX, but for the most part I keep up my 5 subs with RL cash now. I have 40+ billion ISK so it's not like I can't absolutely afford it if needed to, but why spend half of my monthly income on game time?

To be honest, I kept downsizing since then. Down to 2 accounts (1 of them paid with cash) at the moment and unless PLEX drops to 500 mil (which isn't going to happen), it will stay that way. If it hits 900, the second account gets an axe.

Being able to pay for both accounts with cash and wanting to pay for both accounts with cash are two different things.

That's not passive income. It's quite active gameplay to reach that level from PI. The extractors and processors are working constantly whether you are online or not, but you have to be actively involved a lot to make that much from PI alone.

Actually you could possibly pull off 1.3 bill a month with one account ( 3 characters) and 18 good lowsec or null planets just moving extractors every 4 days 3 hours. But yes even then a lot of work.

it depends on how easy is to make money and the value of money itself.
the same stuff that four years ago (stuff I had in my hangar when I stopped playing) would have paid for two plexes, when I came back to eve last month sold for a bil and half, nearly the same two plexes (but double the isk).
so if inflation means that plex prices grow at the same rate of everything else, no problem.
if they start growing a lot faster, there's a problem.

I have 4 accounts, 5 characters of which are currently doing PI (thinking about getting a couple of more). It takes me 10 minutes a day to update my extractors, and export/import. I make about 2bil a month from PI and I consider it passive compared to other ways of making ISK.

Unless I didn't have the liguid isk available when I need to resub my link alt, there is really no price to high. Isk is just not worth the actual cash it costs.
