Ishtar for Sansha DEDs?

Hi all! I haven't been playing much at all as I have been very busy this summer, yet I have been diligently training during my off time. Today I can fly an Ishtar! I love exploration and combat, and considering I am not in a core due to my lack of any sort of consistent availability, I would like to try my hand at some higher level DED plexing solo. My question is this: Can a passive shield fit Ishtar be used to effectively solo Sansha DEDs? Or is the EM hole just to big ? I was thinking a tank of one large extender with two em wards, one thermic dissation, a damage control and 2 purger rigs might do, but I haven't done this before so I'm not sure.

Can anyone offer advise on this matter? I only play a couple of times a month, so I do mostly solo stuff. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

I use an Ishtar for mainly angel sites, however I use a PVP/PVE fit that can do all the different types of DED sites. It also has space to fit a probe launcher for all in one purpose.

In highslots, I only have a drone link Augmenter and have space to fit other modules but usually i just keep it simple. You could put remote reppers to fix drones, or small guns to shoot frigates that web/scram or even a cloak/probe launcher.

For the midslots I would reccomend using 2 large shield Extenders, an adaptive nanomembrane, a 10mn microwarpdrive and a omnidirectional tracking link with both optimal and tracking scripts ready (For angels I use bouncer sentries which already have a lot of range so i always have tracking script in but it varies on range.) For Sansha you would use Curators so I would keep the tracking script in all the time.

Lowslots is easy, I have 3 Drone damage amplifiers, An omnidirectional tracking enhancer and a shield power relay.

And in the two rig slots I put 2 Anti EM shield rigs.

Flying takes getting used to. When you land you have to instantly double click in space away from the npcs with your microwarpdrive on, burn out to about 90km of the targets then drop sentries and orbit them at 500. When they start coming into range you take them out. If they get close and start doing damage then you pick up sentries and move away again.

Speed is the key as you are sig tanking so always move. If you stop you are a sitting duck because the tank is not that great but enough to keep you safe, but when orbiting sentries keep prop mod off.

Best thing with the ishtar is if someone comes into your site, you will be about 80k away from them and have a choice whether to run or to fight without being pointed and in this fit you may even be able to take the fight as you have very little resist holes.

My friend has killed tengus and drakes entering his site with a fit very similar (more expensive though). It definitely took me some time to refine and learn to fly this fit (I had to warp out a lot, and I lost 2 that were not fit properly!), but I have used this for a few weeks now with no hiccups and made over a bil in escalation loot!

Good luck o/
