The industry boost was supposed to come in kronos but was pushed back due to changes. My question is what would have been put in crius if it had not been industry based?

Maybe nothing. CCP didn't say that something would definitely be released every 6 weeks: although between the multiple teams working on various projects it's likely that at least one of them will have completed something, it might be an internal project. eg: Team Made Up Name completes their work on a devtool that Team Those Guys need to start work on their next project, or Team Oppressed By The Violence Inherent In The System finishes mapping the functions of a feature that needs code refactoring.

That said, Xander dropped a heavy hint on his Crossing Zebras blog so v0v.

As for what kind of things, CCP Seagull told us at FanFest that CCP are starting work on reworking the Corps & Alliances features, and the Structures as well. So we can probably expect to see a steady trickle of stuff relating to those, as well as the usual Little Things and Ship Rebalancing.

If the industry features hadn't been a part of Crius, but rather released as a part of Kronos on 3 Jun, then there wouldn't have been a release on 22 Jul. Rather we would all have gone on summer vacation and Crius would have been released on 19 Aug.

But instead we rejigged the release schedule and changed summer vacations a bit, added a deployment on 22 Jul, moved some of the later deployment dates a week back each, and bumped up each of the titan releases by one deployment (i.e., moved the names, not the content).

Updating CCP Seagull's section on the new release cadence in the EVE keynote at Fanfest this year to the current schedule then 2014 now looks like this:

  • 3 Jun – Kronos
  • 22 Jul – Crius
  • 26 Aug – Hyperion
  • 30 Sep – Oceanus
  • 4 Nov – Phoebe
  • 9 Dec – Rhea

The dates in the 2015 schedule are currently unchanged but the names move up one deployment slot so we start with Tethys on 20 Jan. Perhaps someone can update http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expansions_of_Eve_Online and both move Crius into the "Released Expansions" section and amend the "Planned Future Releases" section?

As for the content in Hyperion and onwards, we haven't started talking much about the exact details of that yet, it's more been teasing by CCP karkur and CCP Punkturis (yeah, that's how we roll, you know us) but we will mostly be back at the office from summer vacations on 5 Aug and you will start to see more forum posts and dev blogs at that time.

If CCP has any sense, they will keep not-talking about dates for stuff until it is locked to a release..

Othewise we'll drown in posts crying about how feature X got delayed from patch A to B and how it caused Thing Y to be pushed back and yadda yadda.. with rapid pace of patches, there really should only be two states for features;

A: Feature is confirmed, locked in to the next patch (usually around the time the feature appears on SiSi). Push-backs after this would be exceedingly rare. Devblogs appear explaining the gory details.

B: Feature is planned in a future update. CCP may have internal plans and targets, but if they want to stay sane, they should not name the patch target because stuff happens and schedules get juggled and so on.

So hyperion is slated to August 26th? But you wont start talking about its additions till the 4th? Isnt that cutting it close?

Hasn't it already been established that content in a particular point release is often work that had been ongoing during other earlier releases and that these release windows are only just to package them together?

POS overhauls are the next thing on the roadmap. probably will be in Oceanus due to its complexity. Probably alot of balance passes and reworks to lay the foundation for oceanus will be in hyperion.

Per this press release from May then French language support is "slated for completion in September 2014" and we are targeting the 30 Sep deployment of Oceanus.

But there is a localization team for that. I cant imagine CCP putting the same resources into French localization as they would for the roadmap. What would the CCP teams not working on localization be doing?

(Just to be crystal clear, starbase overhauls are *NOT* currently targeted at a particular release and the amount of work required to ship something worthwhile in this area is extremely open-ended at this time.)

They would be working on something else in that period of time but not necessarily targeting the same release.

Keep up the good work... ship it when ready and no one second sooner.

Though I really do hope you guys are working on adding factionwarefare to npc null sec. That would create so much vontent you could shake a stick at it.

So when are we going to start seeing 'new content' that one would expect from a new release/expansion.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the updates and improvements (never stop this part), but new stuff is great too.

What makes you think that updates, expansions and improvements to existing features is not 'new content'? They're adding something that wasn't there before, so it's new content, too, no? Personally I feel they should first finish updating, improving and expanding existing features before they start adding more to the pile. Solid foundation for the castle because a castle in the sky won't work and all that.

would you construe woking on NPC null sec as existing content?

1 plex per site spawn. After the plex is looted the person that looted it gets a flag allowing everyone in the system to shoot at him/her.

NPC Null exists. It just doesn't do anything really. So expanding on NPC sov being there but not doing anything other than preventing others from taking sov to doing something and improving the flavour and significance of it could be considered working on existing content. Then again doing that would also add something new, so it'd add new content to the existing content. Though I would say adding meaning to NPC sov would go hand in hand with a sov rework.

Just the thought of Pirate Fation Warefare carried over to NPC null sec sounds like soo much fun...

Great Wildlands has 4 stations in just three systems close together, fostering pilot "interaction" in just one small area of the region. Thukker Tribe has surely done well enough with Fuel Blocks, that they might afford a few more stations enabling additional "interaction" near other entry points to the region. An "oasis" in the geographic middle of the region would be nice, too.
