Pre-crius, players were not able to research any blueprints beyond the 31 days limits and the only blueprints that were capable of going beyond the 31 days limit were titans or supercaps bpos.

Now, there is no 31 days limit and there are numerous blueprints that can have research time going beyond several months, even a year.

Taking a Chimera BPO from 9 ME to 10 ME would take ~260 days.

What's to stop players from starting a new account, train up 3 research alts and throw in 30 carrier blueprints that would take a 260 days to research and then unsub their account? They've effectively have only paid the install cost of running the research job and avoid having to pay 9 months of gametime.

This sounds very much similar to Ghost Training in which players could set a long skill and then unsub. A technique that CCP had put an end to it few years ago.

Perhaps it's time to do the same for Ghost Research?

But is it actually possible, or is this an assumption that once the account expires the research continues?

The bigger problem is that it takes... a YEAR to research something i would think.
