CCP wants new players. That's why they're consistently pissing off the older ones. Some vets have become so entrenched in their ways that they think they're entitled. New players are wide eyed and more accepting of change. Less bitching and whining CCP has to hear, the more they can enjoy their jobs.

All that aside, it would be nice to have great deals like that for us, but it's not meant for us.

I'm not convinced this is anything malicious if anything its something they probably haven't considered.

If people HTFU about using steam, they get deals. It's almost as if it was designed for EVE.

There's clearly a market for subscription sales outside of steam so why not take a grab at that money?

I remember signing up during a sale where CCP offered to waive the ten-buck signup fee and provide a skillpoint booster. I can't be the only one who likes sales?

I bought a whole bunch of accounts during the Humble Bundle thing for 1 cent each & didn't give the 1 cent to CCP or charity. I don't feel bad about this to be honest.

Yes, please CCP :( I'd buy 50% sub sale in a heartbeat! But when I saw that on steam, I raced to buy it, but I checked on info if it applies to existing account, nope :( Made me really sad! Please, make the sale to us existing users CCP!

I used to run a specific rig that I allowed to be infected with steam but I do not game enough anymore to be bothered.

Everyone is trying to figure out a way how this deal could benefit them.

Until they realize that they need an EvE Account, bound to the Steam services, which is a huge drawback since
it won't apply to your existing accounts, outside of Steam...and even if you would sign up for the deal, and create a
new EvE account (through Steam), you will not be able to sell that character, in order to profit down the road from the deal.

Great stuff, prevents the creation of yet another mass invasion of focused skilled pilots.

Yep, pretty ****** up there. :( I know its nice to cater to new players, but the game is also runned by older players for the most part so it'd be nice to be part of it... :(
