You can make a table of the average of 5 runs on each mission with each ship, and you can see which ones the Vargur shines at, and which ones the Rattler shines at.


The amount of variables that a rattlesnake brings are very huge. So here is my kill sequence which seems to be optimal after a long time of play.
First off, the rattler does worst with curators, it has no ranged or tracking bonus for drones therefor it is stuck with the curators stats that don't really fit within the 80-40km threshold that it does best at. Note that Gardes do well enough up close but most things you shoot with gardes are killed by Wardens if all goes well.
So where should one fly a rattler for sensible results? angel space. Why? because gurristas and serpentis are still quite a pain for a rattlesnake with their specific E-war, especially now that the rattler isn't a sniper platform anymore, thus letting sentries shoot whatever isn't good enough. Also cruise missiles rely on a painter, so do geckos. PAck a gecko for frigates, never use lights, just paint them and even that isn't needed perse.

Order of death= sentries on: frigates>cruisers>BS. Cruises on: Elite cruisers>BC>BS>Cruisers. No need to mention E-war ships take priority.

Last and not least, I do hope you fly something that isn't blinged up the wazoo, since that isn't very representative of what most people would fly. but that is personal preference a lot of people love flying Pinatas.

He's MJD and has 1600 gank, I'm sure he will only ever run away from guristas.

And I'm not even sure about those guys, since you can always just throw on 2 kin hardeners.

I run a similar fit but with a sensor booster instead of an invul. If you are sniping from far enough away, you rarely get hit. Only have to warp out when I screw up.

I just came back to Eve. I'm using a HAM Cerberus fit with a T2 LSB and 10mn AFB to run level 4s right now. Love flying it in missions, but I avoid any with heavy EM damage. With level 5 skills I get good numbers. I'll eventually go back to my Tengu though. Basically use whatever you like and can comfortably run them in. Otherwise they will get tedious fast.

Main thing is to balance out risk of someone noticing your nice ship vs efficiency.

If you fly a nice looking thing then don't run L4's at a major hub like the sisters hisce offices. You are just askign for it.

Yeah, if you have doubts about tanking you can always fit a mjd. You can fit an A-type and not be a loot pinata. You need great cap skills ofc.
At 1400+ dps the gank does a lot of the tank, that said I do switch hardeners to specific at times, and the MJD slot often holds a MWD and on a rare occasion a afterburner.
IT is part of a rattler, you switch around a lot. for the blockade and and Gone Berserk I tend to fly it with 2 painters and no prop mod. etc.. it takes a while but you get more used and faster at switching out mods.
But most of the time, 2 invuln and a MWD are fine. Just keep your gank up, don't nod off.
P.S. Ohh your tank to a large extent comes from popping things at range, 80-50km you better work it.
