Viable ships

I am just returning to the game after a few years off and was looking to get some ideas about what ships are still viable for certain tasks.

The Naga for example (I am Caldari after all) looks epic but all my research points at it being a Gelatinous cannon so seems totally unviable

Is there a list based on the current meta to show what ships are still good at what? or if it's good for nothing?

It'd be easier for you to tell us what you're trying to do, because screw going through every ship and telling you what it's good at and what it's not good at.

All ships have a function

There is no useless ship

Friendship, best ship.

(Preferably blue friends, because in EVE you need to be specific about such things.)

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

100MN AFK Ishtar or VNI in Guristas space.

I wear my goggles at night.

Any spelling/grammatical errors come complimentary with my typing on a phone

To be fair, this is really the only ship you need to rat in nullsec these days.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Yes, definitely not a Naga. 100MN Ishtar is pretty much the standard these days.

So all the ships in the game and that's the only one to use?

nothing has changed..........

No - all the ships in the game and that's the most effective one for that purpose. If you want to run incursions, I would suggest a Vindi or a NAPOC, but you said you wanted to do nullsec anoms, so...Ishtar for you.

Where do you want to rat then? If you are dead set for caldari, knowing where you want to rat might help give you pointer on what to use.

There are about a total of 10 useful ships in this game. no lie. i assume pvp is your goal. if pve you can use the other assortments of garbage available.

Thanks for the assistance but wasn't after particular guidance for a given instance I was after a more general guide on the meta (AKA a link to a website)

as I don't just want to rat etc
