Just a question, the other day this character had both hair and a jacket, now I'm bald and jacketless. Is this common, did I get some sort of crazy space disease, and if I can't get my jacket back will I start space nippin?

You should be able to just go into customization and get yourself a nice wig + Jacket.. :)

It's in station services once you're docked.

Almost happened to me once when I was updating Erica's portrait while at work. Left the character creator open while two colleagues relieved me for a smoke break. They worked out enough to take it back to the customization screen from the portrait screen and intended to give her massive boobs to troll me. Of course they couldn't though (without resculpt). When I returned they told me of their diabolical plan but said when they saw my character in full body mode they thought she was "perfect" and didn't have the heart to ruin her. P

Nobody believes me when I tell that story though. Lol
