I've been Messing around with parts on Scan.co.uk and this is the best Eve gaming rig for about £500 i could come up with, Does anyone know how this will handle Eve? Or maybe someone could come up with something abit better/Cheaper? The maximum price i can go to is about £500. Thanks Smile

Yeah that's fine.... Maybe upgrade the processor and go to 6-8 gb of ram as eve still eats those up more than anything else especially if multi client.

But yeah should get the job done

Yep that will laugh in the face of eve. Will be perfectly capable of playing any game out now too, so long as you aren't too optimistic with the graphics options on the really new and shiny ones.

Brilliant, Do you know about how many Clients it could Run? Lets just say they are all at Minimum Graphics.

case I agree with, some of the other things not so much.

Case, Nice looking case if you like green insides.

CPU: An x4 is noticeably faster but there is also another alternative that could cut down on the price significantly.

AMD x4 840. 89$

Mobo: I agree

Ram: Get 8 GB, you are paying more for overhead in the ramstick than you are the actually DIMMs, I just bought 8GB of corsair vengeance series for 40$ and i am seeing the other brands go for 30 or so in sale.

HDD: If you are not going to store much data, like tons of music or video, then you may be able to get by with an SSD for almost the same price. I was looking on ebay for an Intel 320 120gb and i see them going for around 120$. I think an SSD will make a world of difference if you are indifferent to space.

GPU: I agree with this choice, the Nvidia alternative is also quite juicy, the GTX 460

PSU: No, go with a corsair or silverstone or enermax or even thermaltake
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027

cooler: I would not do that one, the coolermaster hyper 212 is supposedly a better mouse trap for the price

and if you can wait till after Christmas, ask me how my AMD LLano setup is going, It integrates CPU and GPU and I think it could shave 100$ off the price.

Not sure. My ageing rig, less powerful that the one you are intending to build, has no trouble with 2 clients with all the graphics options turned up. With the graphics turned down 5, maybe 6 would run ok? How many were you intending to run?

if you are quad boxing then you definately need 8gb of ram and fa quad core CPU.

ya, my dual core CPU is good, but if you want anything but absolute bottom graphics, you'll want a quad core.
