Anyone else noticed a loss of days when renewing a subscription?

I have just lost 4 days game time after renewing my 12 month subscription (I also suspect this has happened the last two years as well) Oops

By that, do you mean that the "next payment date" is 4 days earlier next year? If so, I believe that they consider a month to be 30 days, so you're buying 12 months, which is 30 x 12 = 360 days. So it's not technically a year.

remember that eve "months" are 30 day packages, not real months.

Rabble rabble skillpoint reimbursements!

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

Just one more way to milk us.

It is even more fun if you pay monthly, the billing date keeps changing until eventually it lands the day BEFORE payday.

Hmz.

Maybe next time before you start to complain do some research on subs.

EVE uses fixed 30 day 'months'.

12 x 30 = 360.

So, no you did not lose 4 days, yes you did receive exactly what you paid for.

Too bad that you dont complain about it during February where there are 2 extra days for that month compared to an EVE-month

Yes, yes, the lawyers got the wording perfect.

That doesn't change the expectations of a consumer market that is accustomed to monthly billing cycles. This will always be seen as a cheap trick.

it's not my "expectation" that the length of game time i'm paying for should depend on the time of year

just imagine complaining about a less than 2% difference in subscription time

Anyone that is ok with being defined as a consumer should just shut up and consume some more.

It should be on the same day every month...like most any other service that does recurring billing. It's just better that way, and you don't need to worry about getting charged on a day you weren't expecting.

Use EVEmon. it bugs me every hour starting a week before the sub expires.

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

Ok people, the OP had a genuine question. The question has been answered.
There is no need to start a debate over the validity of EvE's payment scheme. It's rather pointless to do so on the forum.

Therefore, thread locked to prevent further unnecessary derailment.
