Just curious if anyone else uses Voice Attack or any other type of VOX macro program with EVE?

I've been using VA for various shortcuts in EVE and so far I've been enjoying it.

I have a lot of setups programmed on mine for various ships that I use to control my modules, overheating, warping, etc. Like a RR Domi, I just target my RR buddy and say "Computer, Spider Tank" and VA activates all my RR modules. Beats the hell out of having to use the keyboard for shortcuts.

www.voiceattack.com is the one I use. Was 8 dollars. Probably others out there or some of you who know how to make programs could make your own.

I have mine setup with a custom voice pack, so every command I make, the program responds with a british chick voice. Was trying to find a voice pack that sounds like Aura. Example of a response would be if I say "computer, jump the gate", I have the program respond with "Understood Commander" or whatever you want.

Various shortcuts I use are like open map, close map, open market, warp, jump, dock, approach, etc.

Interesting, how is it with regards the eula?
I would imagine there's a potential grey area with this kind of thing,
can you point me In the direction for these so I may look into it myself?
Edit: just saw your edit, cheers.

Its basically a voice activated macro program. Instead of using keyboard for macros, you use your voice.

Its especially handy for anyone who is handicapped. Heard about an EVE player who only has one hand. This would help him out a lot.

This is a bad idea. If you forget it's on, one ill-timed "Grrr Goons" will have you jumping your carrier to a beacon in VFK, then you die.

Hence my question about the eula, have you looked it up yourself?
My apologies for the scepticism , I'd just be concerned about the potential risk to ones account given the ccp's attitude towards macro programs.

I have a razor Naga so u can already play eve one handed, though I see the appeal (and benefits In your example).

Some of my commands

Engage - Warps me to next gate on my route. Only works after I stand up out of my chair and pull down my jacket that is riding up on me. Also, only works if I point at the screen when saying it.

I'm in structure - Overheats all the modules and Microsoft Sam says a quick prayer that I may live.

****, a bubble - Immediately aligns towards sun and turns prop mods on while typing "Bad campers are bad" in local.

Grr Goons - Turns on self destruct, minimizes my game, and opens funny cat gifs.

I dont know, is it against the EULA to use macro keys on a keyboard, or even use the ingame shortcuts? All this does is instead of hitting shortcut for warp, I say warp and it keys the warp shortcut or whatever I program.

If isboxer is allowed and lets 1 person use 20+ accounts then this should be a nobrainer.

I use it on other games too. Comes in handy on flight simulators. I hate memorizing keyboard bindings, more natural to program voice commands.

My guess would be it is allowed since it's not automating the use of the commands. You still have to be at the keyboard and issue the command for anything to happen - in that regard it's no different than the buttons on a razor mouse or a G15 keyboard, both of which are allowed. as long as it's not reacting FOR you, I don't think it's a violation.

You could always send in a petition if you want an official answer.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Im not worried about it.

I am looking forward to playing EVE Valkyrie with the Occulus Rift, Saitek x55 Pro and Voice Attack. That will be a great experience.

My kids already think I'm some kind of nut job when they see me sitting with a joystick crammed between my legs, a throttle clamped to the side of my chair, rudder pedals for a foot rest, head tracker hat on with it's shiny dots and yammering on coms in WW2 pilot speak.

I think if I started actually talking to the computer, asking it to drop flaps or retract gear, my kids would be calling the funny farm to come pick me up.

Pretty sure this is a EULA violation since the process is automated.

EULA Violation would be ISBoxer doing multiple commands to a single client for one user action (IE a macro that automatically aligns to planet 1)

Within EULA is ISBoxer sending the Same command to multiple clients but the user still has to do the commands manually, looking for planet 1 in the dropdown or something and then pressing Align to. User is still manually doing everything, just being replicated to multiple clients.

CCP defines (by my interpretation of their rules) a Macro as the automation of a process that does multiple commands in game in exchange for one activity.

If using macros is against eula, then ccp would have to ban everyone who uses a razor mouse or keyboard with macro keys.

Hell, even the logitech g35 headset has macro buttons on it.

Btw, I cannot program voice attack to align my ship to planet 1. I can program it to hit the align shortcut keybind wben I say align. However, I still have to have planets listed on my overview and have planet 1 selected when I give the voice command to align.
