drone damage exploit

Devs posted a note re drone damage exploit.

What was the exploit?

EDIT - its on reddit. pretty clever. Cant be easily fixed either. Im guessing every goon ratter will be using this trick on his ishtar now... Or was using it for a month already who knows....

If you're asking everyone to come forward and receive a lighter penalty than people who hide it and hope they don't get caught, it would be incredibly helpful to tell us what the exploit is so we know whether or not we've accidentally done it.

Yes but the post says to report the exploit if it is seen. Worse, one could be doing it and not know about it. It's illegal to perform the exploit so knowing how it works won't make it any different...I mean for real, I could just misjudge legit damage from drones and report it as an exploit if I thought it was somehow 'off'...How can we report something if we don't understand the mechanics behind it?

If you did it, you'll know. It's not really something accidental unless you are consistently the most unlikely unlucky guy in the universe.

The only thing I could think of that would boost drone damage would be to fit a full rack of drone damage amps, launch drones, and refit for normal tank. Im just guessing here, I dont use drone boats very often.

How else could you boost damage? or somehow assign drones to someone with drone dmg amps then take them back somehow...

IMHO when devs post a notice like that, of course I want to know what the exploit was. Everyone wants to know that. Might as well say what it was, it all comes out anyways.

how the **** are we supposed to know if we have been a victim of this exploit if we have no idea what the **** it even is?

Because you can very easily tell if you have been.

it's on the forums and ISD left the post mostly intact. If they didn't choose to remove it & it can be found via looking at the forum; that's there problem. I didn't qoute or reproduce anything from that post.
