Screen flickering issue

My new laptop just came in. I changed the game settings to what was on my previous laptop: GeForce 660M with updated driver, 1920x1005 window size/

Current laptop is an MSI GS70 Stealth Pro-212. with a GeForce 870M, updated driver. the only thing I can't change is the size of the screen to match my previous laptop: it sits at 1920x1080. Also, I have Windows 8.1 on the new laptop, with the previous one having Windows 7.

Anyways, the screen is flickering, and it's only happening in EvE. it's not affecting any other game, or even on the desktop.

So it appears that it only happens in windowed mode, and the computer is fine in fullscreen. However, I run multiple accounts, and so I need windowed mode in order to properly play. How do I fix this, since it seems another player said the same thing about three weeks ago and CCP ignored it.

Is it safe to assume you have no ******* idea what's going on, or have you just been ignoring this entire forum?

Is it flickering when you are looking in the direction of a light source? (like the sun or a gas cloud, or after an explosion)

Is it random or does it always happen at a specific point?

I recently had some weird flickering due to a nearby explosion that made everything bright white when I looked in a certain direction that only occurred in windowed mode, but was fixed by lowering some of the graphics settings.

Initially I thought it was only when looking directly at the star for the system, but it appears that if I open menus and at the character selection screen the screen constantly flickers.

That sounds odd, like some sort of conflict. Do you have any driver-based AA, anisotropic filtering or ambient occlusion enabled? If not, does it persist if you turn down the shader and/or post processing settings a notch?

No, and I'm not the first person to ask about this that has been ignored.

Try not to take it personally, they're very busy and have a lot of issues to fix at any one time - it could just be that this thread hasn't been seen yet. Have you hit F12 and filed a report in game?

Friendly bump: I am experiencing this issue as well. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M card myself and Windows 8.1.

Any settings I can change that might resolve this?

I'm watching for right now, but it appears starting the game in windowed mode caused the stuttering. If I made it windowed after starting in fullscreen it didn't do it. I turned anti-aliasing on (it was disabled) in-game and it seems to have stopped the flickering.

I had the exact same problem... geforce 860m, most recent drivers...flicking like crazy when in eve windowed mode.
Turned on Anti-Aliasing as suggested by Anya, and seemed to fix it. I think the 860m or its drivers has problems..as I get smaller amounts of screen flickering when using other apps as well...even notepad.
