Notification on decloaking

Upon being decloaked by an item in space there should be a notification in the notifications list of who/what decloaked you.
If it is a drone it should also state the owner if the person is still connected to it.
Of course this is personally motivated idea as people get decloaked by fleet mates, leave you dead but you have no trace of finding if and who warped to you just that a random passerby alt killed your decloaked self.
I got idea, ha ha! but i didn't check if it was requested already.
it wasn't in the tl;dr list of requested stuff so thought it was fair game.

Try paying attention to your surroundings. Someone or something has to be within 2000m of you to decloak you. If you can't manage to keep yourself more than that tiny distance away from others, that's a personal problem.

if anything, there should be a more noticeable UI change, other than the faint green glow on your cloak symbol fading. when your camera is zoomed out too far, you may not notice the cloak going away and the green circle is very easy to overlook, especially if you are colorblind.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Maybe a circle that appears around your ship for a couple seconds to help notify you.

Im not colorblind but i have had friends of mine whining over the lack of being able to see some of the current notifiers in the game (primarily redboxing. They see the yellow, not the red)

Agreed. I've been decloaked so many times because I was focused on another screen and cloaked ship was zoomed out far.

something that says uve just been decloaked would be handy. doesnt have to tell me what it was, just that i am now standing out like an ice cream van in the sahara.

Actually something like this was mentioned to ccp WhiteNoise Trash and it seemed to have some traction with him so it may be a runner,
I can't remember exactly his response on it but it seemed positive if I remember correctly,
though it was in relation to a ui noise informing you of the state of the cloke

Wait, it actually goes from yellow to red?

Don't they add a cycle timer like they did for reloads in Crius? That will visually show you the moment you de-cloak, since the timer starts running.

May do. havent had it happen.

But being uncloaked unintentionally is a big deal and quite often goes unnoticed by the pilot. So often in fact its common practice for gang mates to shout out on comms when they see a friendly uncloak without prior notice.

On top of that i imagine its common to do PI while cloaked, and ur modules on the UI are not visible when ur in planet mode.

There is a green flashing ring around an active cloaking device.
There is no green flashing ring around an inactive cloaking device.

Problem solved.

All you have to do is point yourself away from anything that can decloak you and you won't be decloaked. Pick a safe spot, warp to 100, fly random direction.

Judging by posts in this thread, you people need more instruction on how to fly a cloaked ship, not more coded shiney features. The only time I have ever been unwillingly decloaked has been at gate camps, which no amount of 'you've now been decloaked' messages would have helped.

Voice of Aura would sound cool. "You're ship has been decloaked by external factors" or something like that.

gonna say this. you have an ov that gives range. Obviously if OV has an object within decloak range on you...well you went to far in your creeping lol.

If by chance ov not showing drones and cba to turn it on....well then assume drones in space anyway also good practice.

But that's me. I tbh used to be a sub sim junky and I turned off most guidance features. You mess up your ranges or make a bad judgement call (ie getting too close)...scratch one sub worst case.

Agreed, especially in Gallente space (where the background is green anyway... or whoever's space that is).

But to the OP: yah, would be good to both get a written indication of what de-cloaked you and a sound effect. +1

It'd be nice, along the lines of a capacitor warning.

"The cloaking device has been deactivated".

But then I can't imagine that the voice actor for the UI is still on hire by the company.

And yes, I know there is a visual warning, but you can say the same thing about "the capacitor... is empty".

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

The cloak module flashes green when active. How hard is it to keep half an eye on that?

You can set up a tab that shows everything in the overview. Little green flashy thingy stops flashing green, click tab, see what did it.

No problem to fix. Just pay attention.

Gate campers are just Carebears with anger issues.

I still think it is not asking for much to have an extra indicator like "Warning: Cloak disrupted", alike "Ship Stopping". I know that is asking for easy mode, but since you have no sounds or real indicators other than just "module stops working", I think there should be a sound or such. I don't think this would be game breaking either.

But yes. You must keep aware of your surroundings first and foremost.

Using tablet, typoes are common and I'm not going to fix them all.

Just as I think it is not asking to much for you to pay attention?

NOS, points, webs. None of these have an indicator beyond the green light going out when your target gets out of range. You have to watch your range when using these on most ships, so why should you not have to watch your range when cloaked, specially when it's so easy to move to a point where you can't get decloaked.

Vayn Baxtor wrote:

This is the only thing you need to do to prevent getting decloaked.

That you fail to use the tools already provided does not make a valid argument to add more tools.
