They aren't completely useless though. Even horrible null will drop T1 large Smartbombs in abundance and they reproc for a decent amount of minerals. R.I.P. Vile Rat

They CAN be used in higher-class red giants (+85-100% to range and damage). For frigates to quickly shake drones off and keep that hostile cruiser/carrier pointed.

Having said that, yeah micro is trash.

Large bombs, however, are godly. Especially low-end officer, in a c6 red giant, hit up to 16-18km for 1k damage....yum! Used in PvE a lot.

I wasn't aware they actually existed at all until I saw this thread, I thought they were an April Fools' joke that I had missed and just gotten left into the game code.

But apparently someone I know has claimed to have used one once.

However a good fleet of 50 people alle permarunning small smartbombs will clear out drones quite fast, while the short range makes a relative low amount of people in the fleet actually getting hit, all while those expensive pods will not get podded if you go down.
