The more I think about it, is this not RMT?

Considering CCP makes the rules and owns the product they could sell PLEX for drugs or sex if they wanted to. Maybe even buy that big volcano in iceland and make it their new base.

So technically maybe. But the rules kind of only apply to players if you read them carefully.

Don't see why this is a problem - the whole issue with rmt is that CCP don't get the cash. There they do.

Trading iskies for CCP physrep iskies, how can that possibly be RMT?

The whole point of plex is to allow players to use in-game isk for out-of-game products from CCP, this is no different.

The second I can buy my airplane tickets with Plex I am signing up for Fanfest.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

As stated, ccp owns the plex, and the isk, they can make any damn rules they wish. As they announced in the stream last year, they were selling things at fan fest for the plex coins. You could not use them all over Iceland, nor could you buy a house with them (yet ;)) but as its CCP's program, CCP's game, CCP's money, CCP's event... then its perfectly legal cause ccp says it is.

I'd love to see this branch out so I could go to a restaurant when i'm at the 2015 fan fest and not have to pay $85 for a burger, lamb steak and a soda (that was the cost for the wife and I to have dinner one night.. sigh) I'd save up all my isk to use them things. hehe
