First of all, i know soloing is not the best idea but i like the thrill of not knowing what's going to happen next so i know what to expect.

What are some of the fun frigate fits that you guys have tried? I normally roam around with a worm or comet, but i'd like to see what's out there that i haven't tried. Please include the strategy of the build if possible.

Thank you for your time.

One of my favourite things to go solo roaming in recently, credit for the fit goes to some guy who killed me from Amarr FW using this fit. Everything wants to fight you, you have range control on 90% of brawlers, good dps, it's really cheap, it's just great all around. If you can scram it, you can usually kill it or run away (barring something like a Daredevil). Avoid kiters like the plague.

Scram-kiters are basically my favourite ships to fly, they have good engagement profile, ability to disengage and it's good for taking on multiple targets as well. Other good ships for scram kiting are Rail Comet, Rail Incursus, Rail Tristan, Dual web arty firetail, Dual web TD armor hookbill, Dual web Merlin, Kestrel and Rifter (kinda crappy).

Sounds fun. Scram-Kiters are one of my favorites as well. Their ability to escape a bad situation is perfect for soloing.

First of all, soloing actually is a great idea! Lol

I won't post a fit, but if you want to have fun I'll give you an idea.

Take any high-dps frig.

Do not fit a point or a scram. Instead, be creative with the extra mid slot (MASB, a second web, a TD, dual prop, whatever!).

Strategy is simple: use that unexpected extra mid slot to quickly get and stay (/survive) on top of the other dude and melt him before he realizes he can just warp out.

Works even better with destroyers, if you wanna eventually try those out too.

Make space glamorous! Is EVE dying or not? Ask the EVE-O Death-o-meter!

Mid Grade Snakes & Zor's

Setup purely to troll the kitey Condors that infest New Eden's lowsec plexes.
More than fast enough to catch em, tanky enough to take on two or three at once (they always use kinetic missiles, never had anyone fit anything else :P ) and has autocannons instead of hybrids (110dps iirc?) to leave them with that "I think I was just killed by a noob...?" uncertainty.

Trololol.

I've seen this fit quite alot and I never understood why would you fit a plate and a SAAR together.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

You need some buffer or you bleed too much damage into your hull between rep cycles. This is my fifth iteration on the Incursus blaster fit and I have found it to be the best balance.

The rule about never mixing your tank, whether shield/armour or active/buffer, is a good one but not absolute. Sometimes it helps to have both. I do the same thing with the Comet which is borderline OP to be honest:

[Federation Navy Comet, Comet R3]

200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Damage Control II
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer

1MN Afterburner II

The extra EHP prevents over-repping and makes the fit much less Micro heavy, also helps with heavier incoming DPS as they wont burn through you anywhere near as fast with the plate.
