Hi, i recently switched to a Windows 8 PC. Since then sometimes when i quit Eve the screen turns and stays black. Ive tried Alt Ctrl Del but couldn't see if it was giving me any options, same with the windows button.

The issue normally occurs after i have been playing for a few hours. I play the game with graphics set to quality, and sometimes before i quit i set the graphics to performance and i dont have this issue, but not always.

Ive updated Windows and my Graphics card, which is a GeForce 660.

Ive seen a suggestion that turning graphics to 24bit can solve this issue, but i don't see that option in the games video settings.

Anyone else have the same problem, or know of a fix?

Windows 8 or windows 8.1? If it is windows 8.1 that is your issue they changes I know there were some issues in the past with certain games and 8.1. I personally have a gaming desktop with a GTX 780 and a gaming laptop with a gtx 770m both on windows 8 both had problems with EVE after upgrading to 8.1.

I also had some problems with BF4 with a mouse issue and I had crashing issues while beta testing Everquest Next landmark after upgrading to 8.1. I reverted back to windows 8 and have had no issues.

Strange. I use a Windows 8.1 PC, and have no problems in EVE or any other games that I play.

Overheat Keyboards! Load Rage posts! Prepare for a long, seething, back and forth about irrelevant things!

Perhaps it was the risqué picture you had set as your desktop, and you got a FCC virus from the Eve in-game browser, and upon closing Eve you activated a giant black box that censored the whole thing out?

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I was thinking more along the lines of the machine actually tried to send the poptart junior shoved into the DVD port. The chef's union freaked out and launched an attack...in the middle of all this you launch EVE. It doesn't like pastry, and goes on it's own strike taking the OS with it in solidarity.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.
