I se a bunch of these carriers and trader ships and they are said to hold items but i was curious on the whole shebang of these

If i attack one will concord show up or theat faction/corps support?

If i attack what are your suggestions. (Escape, tank, weapons, backup...etc)

I am very close to doing it but i want to make sure that maybe a drake could sit there and be fine and what not

Well, the main thing is the location of your (planned) attack(s) I guess... If you are in high security you are unlikely to get away with it, whereas if in low security, then it's up to you... But i'd guess that if they are carrying anything valuable, they'll likely have backup somewhere nearby!

I'm a pretty new player, so I won't attempt to give you actual battle tips... There are other people on here much, much, much, much, much more qualified to do that :)

You could always take a low cost frigate and attack to see what happens.

In general:

High-Sec... you will loose your ship to Concord after attacking.
Low-Sec... you may loose your ship to your target's escorts after attacking.
Null-Sec... your target will be gone before you even start attacking.

Actually, the null-sec statement is a bit too much. Null-sec corps/alliances usually have very good intel channels and they know what, who, and where something is long before the potential target even realizes they are being tracked. For instance, knowing what is flying around 5 or 10 systems away is common place.

I would do as I first stated.. make sure your clone is updated then go shoot it!

If your talking about the NPC hauler ships that spawn around stations, concord won't blap you but if they belong to the same corp as the station, the guns will shoot you. You will take a standings hit with the owners corp though.

Last time I tried it, didn't really seem to be much there for an older player. New players could easily find it a fun way to pirate about in high sec for a while though. Pretty sure they would drop enough to refund t1 frigs easy enough. Bring a hauler of your own though... Lots of big volume stuff...

If they are NPC haulers look here I guess not much changed since that thread was created.

If they are player ships and you are not at war with them or they are not suspect/criminals (I cannot imagine indy/hauling ship undocking while flagged but people do things) you should read on suicide ganking. In short you will get blapped by Concord and there is no way to tank/evade it because that is bannable offense.

It isn't worth it unless you're really, really bored. I've done it several times in the last six months to test it out, and, on average, taking out a caravan of four of them netted between 800k and 1m ISK in commodities and random junk (in one case, actual Garbage commodities). It's a 12% hit to your corp standings, though I don't recall if there were faction standings hits (I don't believe there were).

Considering how little each one is worth, you would actually be better off running anoms (even in a 1.0 system).

It really isn't worth the effort when literally everything else in EvE (even mining in a Venture) is more profitable.

I ran through a few last night after reading this post. No Faction or Sec Status hits, but pretty solid NPC Corp standing hits. If you do this, make sure you aren't blowing up people you want to deal with later.

I think I blew up about 4-5 convoys and the value as shown in my inventory at the end was about 7.1 million. Most of that value came in the form of Oxygen and Water, the rest of the commodities are fairly low value.

It isn't a get-rich-quick scheme, but it was something different and not totally devoid of value. I am sure I spent less than a few thousand on ammo and probably could have saved it all and just used my drones. A Nereus with a few attack drones, a few salvage drones, and a tractor could likely minimize some of the time I spent docking/undocking by doing it all.

If anything it provides role-play value more than anything, blowing up rival corporations. Thats about it.

Sorry but after a while i found out some stuff.

Carriers, courriers, traders have all Planetary interaction loot in high quantities. (Over 1000m3)

Concord will not show up nor the police of that faction but your standing will drop.

Dont fire on The faction police. They will rip you a new one almost as fast as the concord.

- They web +scram you really good and they provide about 300-500 dps with about 3-5 of the ships depending on the factio.

you can still jump systems but be warned shooting the police is bad. Shooting the traders and stuff are ok but not recomended unless you dont care about standings.

Recommend avoiding outgoing NPC haulers, as the station sentries will shoot at you.

You can attack incoming NPC traders though.

Be aware of standing loss.

Faction Police web then scram, if you're quick of the mark, and can do it before they scram, you can use the fact that being webbed allows you to get into warp very quickly to your advantage.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
