Hi guys - just wondered if it is possible to arrange your inventory items into separate areas or folders? I'd like to keep track of which things I looted solo vs those in a fleet on the occasions I team up with a friend.

PS. I don't need to share the items or the hangar with anyone else - I realise I can form a corp for this sort of thing.

Thanks!

Station Containers are the only real way to do it.

Ah, yes - so simple! Thanks :)

One additional question... If you are just keeping the container(s) inside your hangar, is there any need for a password?

Thanks again!

No passwords are really only for if you place them in a corp hanger.

You can also use the filters to help locate and sort...

Yes, I already use this, but I don't think it would do the job for effectively grouping a bunch of random items.... Unless I can somehow label / tag them with the same thing?

Cheers!

I have containers labelled for:
* Meta 4+ = stuff I use regularly (some items are not actually meta 4+ but the name stuck).
* Misc = stuff I use that doesn't deserve to be in meta 4+ container (example: tech 1 ammo) .
* Materials = minerals, etc.
* Sell = Stuff to be sold.
* Junk = Stuff to be reprocessed.
* Supplies = a subset of other containers, with stuff I'm currently using a lot, separated for convenience.

I tend to use Station Warehouses, as they are very large. Freight Containers are the largest recommended for stuff that gets moved (by freighter).

I also have custom filters for:
* Meta 4+
* Meta <4
* >99,999 ISK [Valuables to be sold.]
* <100,000 ISK [Junk to be reprocessed.]
* Materials [Minerals, salvage, etc.]

Note: You can set filters to be preserved when changing containers, so you don't have to re-type. The settings menu is at the top left of the unified inventory window.

I use a bunch of Badgers to organize loot. Cheap, fast and it can also move out.

so was I until I ran out of cargo capacity on a badger and found out that cargo expanders stop working when you leave the ship.
that is when I stumbled upon this thread and mention of station containers! they are awesome, can be renamed and much cheaper than badgers.
