Right. I am not arguing for security, Concord is all about consequences, but what you're saying is that for people with enough money there are no relevant consequences in high-sec, and that this is a good thing.

Concord already punished the offending ship. Why should they attack the pod now?

All these "reasons" are short, soft "I'm mad :( " cries...

In short yes.

Eve is all about capitalism, with money comes power. In short the only way to 'win' Eve is to have so much money that you can pretty much do whatever you like.

Now for carebears this probably means pimped out faction fit mission running ships and fleets of hulks. For non-carebears this means ganking pimped out faction fitted ships and fleets of hulks.

It's all about how you play the game, what you enjoy and what your goals are. There is no right or wrong in this , it's just about what you do for pleasure in the sandbox.

And just think about this, if the ships weren't ganked then mineral prices would probably drop, ship selling prices would probably drop too and mining would become even more pointless than it is now.

Ok, EVE is about capitalism and more money equals more power, so just watch your back.
The arguments about escalating consequences have apparently already been discussed some time ago:
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Suicide_ganking_%28CSM%29
without any apparent solution, so I suspect I have just been rehashing earlier argumentsWhat?

Again, I am not advocating total security in high-sec, and the original poster has had a lot of fun. More power to him.

However, how many copycats would it take to make this really annoying to players? Or would this just be considered a temporary annoyance (like hulkageddon), as the perpetrators will get bored eventually?

It seems to me that the really rich alliances could keep this up in the high-sec trading hubs for months without any noticable costs.

You have to look at it on both sides.

Gank = moar killmails is one side, the one I hope will become more present each and every day, so finally after another wave of leaving players will make them (CCP) understand ganking has it is right now is a very bad game design and far too easy.

The other side shows "some" corporations actively recruiting miners to null sec, they've never been so active than now.

Either ways they're just showing you that you just can't play for your bucks has you wish, either you play has they wish or they'll ruin your game.

Yup, the sandbox isn't very big so by doing things like this big corps/alliances will be able to influence the game.

Now we'll just have to wait for a news item about Concord pilots staying home because they read the memo stating that they're being ineffectiveBlink

This is made all the better by implants being on pod kill mails now

It indeed got more awesome last night. With 13 thrashers I can confirm 2 4+ sets and 2 5+ sets (with mining mind links and other assorted implants). No wonder they never want to talk to me.

WHY so many people hang out afk in their pods.. is there a reason for this?

Hopefully they lost billions of isk worth of implants.. but I doubt they will learn even then :D

I killed a go floating in a naked pod next door to Jita with 2.5B in implants last Friday. Billions are lost.

What has money got to do with it? It costs no money to fit out a FLEET of pod-killing Thrashers. I've got a dozen baking right now. They should be done by the time I get home from work tonight. Big smile

To the OP, check your losses. I would be interested to know how many free killmails you handed out to those pilots that were quick enough to catch you.

At least 274 so far I think. Fleets have been gathering to tag me now to get that oh so prized 800k suicide thrasher.

He he. Sounds about right.

It will be hard to find pods anywhere soon. So lap it up while it lasts.

Sure. It'll help dispose of their excess wealth.

If people want to spend their isk on this kind of thing, they can, basically.

Me, I think it's time to start manufacturing thrashers.
