Name the ship(s) :D

The conditions are this:

- Amarr
- Armor Tank
- PvE
- Security 4 missions
- Flown in Amarr Space
- Can be skill intensive or skill lenient
- Probably a larger ship

Also,

What could it be coupled with. An inquisitor, dominix, or other support ship to help fire and help repair?

I'm not worried about skills or isk cost. This is very much a long term plan. =]
Thank you

Devon.

Armageddon

- Amarr
- Armor Tank
- Can be fit for PvE (just disregard the cap warfare bonus)
- Can fly anywhere
- Moderately skill intensive; drone skills required with choice of turret or missile skills.
- large ship.

- Basically it is a Dominix but without the drone tracking skill.
- Can be coupled with a Dominix for Remote Repair setups (see: both ships fit for remote repairing while dealing damage).

Thank you Shah. A like for you.
That's a great suggestion. I'll highly consider it. =]

To clarify, my thoughts where along the line of that particular ship not using a remote repair.
Simply concentrating on dps/tanking while being repaired.

Well... the 'Geddon certainly offers a good layout for what you want. Personally though... I tend to employ range (around 100km) so I can minimize my tank and beef up dps and dps application. Here is an example...

[Armageddon, Mission Fit]

Armor EM Hardener II
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Large Armor Repairer II
Co-Processor II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II, Optimal Range Script

Large Micro Jump Drive

Cruise Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Cruise Missile
Drone Link Augmentor II
[empty high slot]

Large Sentry Damage Augmentor I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Curator II x5
Garde II x5
Ogre II x4
Hobgoblin II x5

Notes:
- If you cannot fit T2 stuff do not worry... just find the "named" version of the mod that is within your skill and price range.

- This is what I consider a "generic" mission fit... it is probably not optimal and someone can probably make something better.

- Swap around the active hardeners based on what NPCs you will face. EM and Thermic are just there as placeholders.

- The idea is to use the Micro Jump Drive to avoid the NPC swarm and put around 100km between you and them... then unpack your lunch and pick them off as they come towards you.

- Focus your on killing the frigates first as they can Warp Disrupt and Stasis Web you.

- Memorize the ranges your sentries can engage at. In this fit (with level 5 skills) your Curators have an optimal range of 70km... Gardes at 40km (but have better tracking and deal more damage).
Also note that your drone control range may be entirely different from the drone optimal range. Max control range with max drone skills is 60km... 82km with that T2 Drone Link Augmentor. Drones will not respond to any commands if the target is beyond this range from YOUR ship (not the drone itself).

- If you find yourself having to tank large amounts of damage then you have done something horribly wrong. MJD away as soon as you can and/or warp off. Do not wait for your drones.

- The Armageddon requires a fair bit more micromanagement compared to other Amarr battleships... however it is the most "flexible" of the lineup in terms of dealing damage (by virtue of being a drone boat).

If you aim for the Paladin (you want that) go with apoc/navy apoc. Tracking is so high with mega pulse that it actually does damage to cruisers leading paper damage to pretty much match damage on field. If you don't want to spend 600MISK in implants the geddon is for sure better. Until CCP adds drone implants that is.

- 956dps @ 24km, 683dps @ 71km, 158dps drones
- doesn't have to hide from NPCs, activate tank, warp in, approach gate, shoot stuff

apoc fitting is same - 1 heat sink

Edit oh armor... well not a nightmare then, your loss Smile
But if you are willing to go shields, good choice. Lvl4's and incursions.

If you want Amarr I suggest a Dragoon to drop MTUs and sit there waiting for the salvage drones to finish while you kill stuff elsewhere. No other support needed, the Paladin is totally overpowered for L4.

Make note that as people often tend to suggest ships and fits that will get rather SP intensive, the option of parting from Amarr ships becomes a good investment, while yielding potentially more benefit. Ultimately, if you're interested in doing things beyond missioning(which most long-term Eve players indeed do), then faction specialization becomes a bit of bad idea. One of the reasons it's a bad idea is that the Eve SP system is set up to create significantly diminishing returns - You can quickly and easily gain access to all factions' cruisers, or even BC's and BS's, and their associated weapon systems, all in the time it would take you to get into that Paladin. And for that equivalent time investment, what did you gain per option? I would posit that the investment in versatility gains you much more, in broader game terms.

Long story short: I suggest forestalling specialization, particularly on skills that have a high time multiplier, such as battleships and large turrets. You will gain more, broader benefit through 'just getting by' in a low-skill ratting setup, having used your time instead to branch out. Particularly in ways that would make you attractive to an organized and competitive corp/alliance. It will help you leave missioning behind, and help you get into to the parts of Eve that are truly great.
