What for now Rorquals

With the impending addition of compression arrays, why even get into running a Rorqual? Much of their roles can be done far cheaper than investing a in a capital command ore taxi. The Orca is fine for all of that. With cheaper compression arrays, the last great role of the Rorqual will be deprecated. So CCP, what now for the Rorqual?

The Rorqual's only real remaining use is for jump clones...and it's a bit on the expensive side to just be a giant jump clone factory.

It's great for jump clones but I don't know if it's worth all the that training for a jump clone. The space ornament is an awesome use Lol

I'm sure CCP will give it a revamp soon.

Jump clones.

Very cheap poor man's jump freighter.

Superior bonuses to Orca, when you can use it.

Transports your Indy ships.

Yes, it needs lots of love. It needs a god mode to be viable in belts and to operate as a true deep space industrial base without POS support. It needs a bigger ore bay since transporting minerals via compressed modules are going away. The clone vat bay mechanic needs to be updated so you can store yourself in the ship, rather than just create a new clone. So the ship needs love and it will get it. But until then it does still have the uses above. The Rorqual was never just a compression ship. It's always had other uses.

Seen in another thread on the Rorqual: "Allowed through stargates=Y"
That would make it viable for use in a belts.

At least change this:
10% bonus to effectiveness of mining foreman warfare links per level when in deployed mode

To:
10% bonus to effectiveness of mining foreman warfare links per level

Give it some slots for capital strip miners / mining lasers / gas harvesters.

A boost to the tank, e-war immunity, and some sort of utility, like capital mining lasers to give it reason to be there, then you might see them in belts.

let it tractor in entire asteroids, rather than cut them up with a mining laser, pull the whole rock into its hold, and grind it into compressed blocks in one shot, but only when in deployed mode. puts you at huge risk, stuck in a belt unable to move, but massive mining yield in return for the risk.
