in it's pure form, yes.

if our ships were made from pure tritanium, tell me how it's possible to breathe onboard?

I can tell you with absolute certainty that there is almost always someone interested in using used ship parts... Humans seem to have an irresistible urge to always take something designed for one purpose and use it the most unpredictable ways. Usually to their own detriment...
