Train up your falcon alt and booster alt before undocking. Solo refers to one person, not one character.

The facon alt should be a cloaky interdicted tengu.
The booster alt should be..... crap, I don't even know how to make a booster alt.

The best way to solo is to dive wh. Scan out a few systems and wander around until you find some solo action. The implant pimped and alt boosted 'solo' posers won't risk their bazzillion isk implants and booster alts were they can be quickly scanned down and punished.

Be prepared to brawl in wh and don't fret the risk averse kiters. They don't exist in quantity in wh. You uncloak in scram range after jumping a wh, so the kite thing isn't that appealing. There will be a fair number of interceptors, but it they run out of scram range - you just jump through the wh.

Then again, if you like kiting and falcon alts - stay out of wh space.

ONE THING: go wh

Uhm no , Solo for most people refers to one character .Well that is for most persons , accept the guy using his alts to do ''l33t solo pvp'' , for him even multiboxing 50 alt talos's still is solo pvp.

Don't get me wrong he is free to do so and i love it when people who fly in blobs all the time complain about that dude that is using his boosteralt to **** around with them. But it's not solo pvp if you need to use more characters to have a fighting advantage , clearly not talking about scouts here .

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

1 : skill t2 drones
2 : buy a tristan
3 : overheat everything
4 : launch drones
5 : ?????????????
6 : There is no 6

On a more serious note, don't be afraid to loose ships, set up Standings towards corps that tends to roam in gangs so you won't run into a bait.
Pick a ship / fit you like a lot and practice it. Don't be afraid to loose a lot of ships ; you'll start to figure out what is your fit built for / what are your "counters" sooner or later. Then pick your fights accordingly.

Also don't fly a dual rep Incursus. I know as a noob it feels tempting to have a lot of tank so you have more time to get your **** together and figure out what to do in your first fights. But what will happen is every pilot with half a brain will be able to either warp out or kite you to death, which I find really frustrating. Same level of frustration than getting kited by a slicer when you're in a slow ass Merlin. You basically sit there waiting for your death

Install fraps or some alternative for recording your fight.

Spend first 10 fights forgetting to turn it on.

Finally remember to turn it on.

Go back and watch your fights and analyze. Figure out where you f'd up. Look at the notifications flashing across the screen and learn to process them. See if you can figure out a counter for what your opponent was flying. Etc etc.

Don't load void, hail, or conflag for solo frig pvp just because it gives more dps in EFT unless you have dual webs to remain close and reduce transversal speed. You won't be able to track up close, or hit out far, then die horribly wondering why.

Actually, I want to change my answer. Do this! If you are like me and always forget to start FRAPS then use the loop setting so it is constantly recording but not filling your hard drive.

This may be the most agreeable and supportive thread I have read on these forums. Great idea.

My only advice: make sure you have ISK rolling in the background and you can afford to lose whatever you're flying much more easily.

Don't be afraid to convo other solo pvpers who have just killed you, many will give you good advice. I've met some good long-term eve buddies this way, from both sides of the killmails.

In martial arts there is a saying: You have to invest in loosing when you want to learn.

Or: You have to learn to look at the back side of things.

In Eve:

-Get a proper corp - that is most important. Look for a corp with dedicated fighters, not null- or carebears (look for all militas, all have great corps - but Amarr of course has the best corps). Learn from your corpies and pay proper respect to them.

-Watch local all time.

-D-scan every 5 seconds - train that when you rat, for example. Make it an habit.

-It does not matter if you loose ships - but only if you choose to loose them. If you lost a fight due to not watching local and D-scan something went wrong and you have to reconsider.

-Best fights in Eve (where only pixels die) are those with an not defined outcome from the offset. Blobbing makes you a weak fighter. Links are only good if both sides use them. Never run form a fight where you leave your corpies to die if not ordered so.

Don't rush your training into battlecruisers and battleships. Train the proper support skills and learn to PvP with frigates.

Just because a ship says 'Battle' in it's title doesn't mean it appropriate for every situation.

I'm pretty sure the Megathron is appropriate in every situation. Even if just for looks.
