Ship models won't load

Recently I had to revert my OS back to Windows 7, since my PC is broken and the current PC I have is quite old. Windows 8 does not support the manufacturer driver, so I was thinking, to improve the performance on this ancient thing, I'll use Win7 and the latest manufacturer driver.

Well, it didn't work out as well as anticipated; in fact it only made things worse.

Whenever I load the game, I can see the last ship I was flying. However, when I jump into another ship (still in the hangar), that model will not load, and the previous ship is still visible. No matter what ship I jump into. Likewise, when I undock, no ship models load. as if my ship was completely invisible.

Here are some screenshots so you can see what's happening.

Please note that I in fact have the latest video card driver and other games work fine.

On another note, which may be relevant, when I tried to install Win7, I kept getting a BSOD during installation. The only way to get Win7 set up was by booting up the Win8 installation and make a virtual machine. Installed Win7 using a physical partition instead of a virtual one, then once finished, I cloned the partition onto my SSD from where I run Windows now.

This has caused certain issues, like file permissions getting all messed up. I had to manually take ownership of the files on C:\ then change the security settings so that my user account has full control (I know, it's risky, but I couldn't figure another way).

Did anyone encounter similar problems? Is there something you think I should try?

The following games work fine: Starcraft II, Kerbal Space Program, Minecraft. EVE is the only one that's acting up...

Thanks! And fly safe! Or die trying :P

Have you cleared your EVE cache?

I would think having 1 less object to render on the screen this would be a performance enhancement to your graphics.

haha :P feeling funny, aren't we?

anyway, tried clearing the cache. no good. in fact, the game doesn't start at all

I'm gonna try to reinstall the whole thing... if that doesn't work... back to Windows 8...

EDIT: a clean install of the client didn't work. ships are still invisible.

Although I narrowed down the thing a little. Looks like whenever I try to jump into a T3, that's when the client gets all derpy. Other ships are still invisible in the hangar, but they load fine once undocked. When I undock in the T3, though, even the camera doesn't work. If I warp to somewhere, the camera stays put, and I can rotate horizontally but not vertically. If I switch to look at another object, I cannot switch back.

That was a clean install...

I also made sure each and every update is installed for Windows 7, reinstalled the video driver, even went as far to boot in safe mode, load up CMD and manually take ownership over the entire C:\ using the CACLS command. well, that fixed several issued I had and apparently things are faster now, but EVE is still the same.
