In addition to adding alliance bookmarks, I think most of us would like to see the option for fleet commanders to temporarily share bookmarks with fleet members. This would be absolutely invaluable during an op, as it would allow genmil (or in non-militia fleets, outside help) to coordinate better and have more options.

Maybe a better/more robust solution:

  1. The ability to mass-share bookmarks to contacts with a certain standing, name, corp, alliance, etc.
  2. Basically, you select the folder or bookmark you want to share and select "Share This..." from the menu. Then you select names of chars, corps, alliances, etc. AND/OR select a standing level such that any of your contacts with a certain standing can see them. You'd also have a selection for "My Corp" and "My Alliance".
  3. When a bookmark is added to "My Corp" and/or "My Alliance", it is copied to the current "Corp Bookmarks" tab and/or a new "Alliance Bookmarks" tab for permanence that would be stored with the corp/alliance. If you leave that corp/alliance, they keep your bookmark this way.
  4. You then have a "Shared Bookmarks" tab that shows "Bookmarks you have shared" and "Bookmarks shared with you" as folders.
  5. You can see the permissions for sharing at any time and edit them. Shared bookmarks on the "shared bookmarks" tab wouldn't be copyable to the personal tab, but you can always make a personal bookmark by hand.
  6. The ability to share bookmarks via links, which would show up anywhere that other links are allowed, like evemail, chat, bulletins, etc. You would just drag it to the window. This would produce a sharing setting so that anyone with the link can see the bookmark and it gets added to your "Shared Bookmarks" tab from above under the "Bookmarks you have shared" heading with the permissions value listed as "Public Link". People clicking this bookmark would have it added to their "Bookmarks shared with you" Heading.
  7. To prevent sharing spam, you can select options on who can share bookmarks with you based on character, corp, alliance, and standing (personal, corp, and alliance standings each), and can hide bookmarks you do not want to see. Default will be that any bookmarks from your corp and alliance show up on the bookmarks tabs related as such and anyone with blue or above personal standings.
  8. ADD SUBFOLDERS TO THE CURRENT FOLDER HIERARCHY. (not exactly related to above, but important.)

Thanks! Didn't mean to sound rude, your idea spurred on my idea. I was thinking, "How can we share bookmarks better without making a million different tabs?" Then, "Boy, I'd like to share bookmarks via a link and contracts and stuff also." Those led to, "Gee, there has to be a better way to share bookmarks, maybe something similar to a file permissions system on a computer."

You weren't rude; more constructive on any forum post is a godsend. :)
