Fun in Providence!!

Ever since I moved to Providence I have had MORE fun than any other time recently! I have done some mining, ratting, and even been on some fleets recently providing either logi or dps support. It's taken me some time to get used to my new home and believe me, once I get settled in more then I'll be able to sit back and enjoy it more.

I gotta tell ya it's quite different from Hisec and Losec and actually much safer. I say that for example in Amarr, those crazy people there you just never know if you gonna get scammed or suicide ganked or what ever the case may be.

As I had told to several people already I wanted to experience Provi and believe me my wish came true, yeah so what if I lost a ship or two, I still had fun and will enjoy it even more.

providence is going to fall soon, and be turned into another desert landscape by the CFC / NC + friends.

shame, providence is the last populated region where true pvp can happen.

i just dont get it ,why do these 2 coalitions want to destroy the last place to have fun? all they can do is destroy communities - just look at drone regions. Several years ago - thriving community like provi today. Now - a wasteland with system after system empty of life. Only a few renters here and there. Pricks.

Man, you got this happy OP posting about their good experience and you have to come take a dump in their thread.

OP, I'm glad you found a home. It's hard for a lot of people in this game to find a good home. Good luck.

Glad to hear you're having a positive experience. I have been playing out in 4th space for a little while now, on and off, and have had similar experiences. Provibloc are always pleasant to deal with if you conduct yourself as a guest who respects the house they're staying in. I've even had the honour of discussing the finer points of outpost management and the activities that go into the day to day running of smaller sov holders, which was a nice contrast to previous experiences with larger entities. It may be too strong a statement, but I feel that for all its flaws, Providence is an adequate NPE for null life.

Other alliances do it bigger, and many do the meta better. But Provi does have a role in giving people a taster of the wild west, gank dodging and risk filled lifestyle of populated null. Previously I've sneered at NRDS as 'too reactive' but a more disciplined approach to combat has had many benefits, opening some diplomatic doors I would have previously closed on a weekend NPSI roam. Not sure if I'd carry NRDS with me anywhere else as an ROE set, but it certainly isn't harming my current experience.

Even if it does fall as many are predicting, it will clinch some precious null-scale pvp experience for my small group and build friendships that will probably outlast our stay in the region.

There are 4 flaws in your statement:

1. IF Providence was to be conquered, it would have happened weeks ago. Esoteria was steamrolled in about 2 weeks by a NC campaign.
2. Nulli Secunda has been fighting with providence alliances for about a month. Providence has been undocking fleet after fleet. All of them great fights. IF this was about sovereignty we would not go about it alone and Providence would have reserved its fleets for absolutely necessary combat (station timers).
3. If this would be about sovereignty, the CFC would have been there seeing if they could either block N3 or do it themselves.
4. Catch

The only "smudge" here is a NC station in the middle of providence. I don't know why that happened, but it can serve to prove my point. It could have been all of them.

To the OP; welcome to nullsec. You've selected a proper group of players to play EVE with. Proviblock is quite something these days. Send my regards to Corebloodbrothers when you see him.

Once I'm comfortable enough with fights in RvB, and FC'd a bit, I want to get down into providence to help out.

When I had first started eve, a long long time ago - long before my current account - I made my first trips into low/null in Providence. The very first thing I remember on arriving down there was getting a warning in local about some pirate movements in a nearby system.

Followed immediately by 3 or 4 pirates jumping into the system, which practically gave me a heart-attack, but they left almost as fast as they showed up - and then a player-militia jumped in, about fifteen guys or so, asked if anyone saw the pirates, and let us all know to stay calm as the pirates were being hunted down. Then someone started chanting some kind of amarr battle hymns in local before they all jumped out.

That was when I knew I was going to enjoy providence.

You do know that you can kill off an Alliance/coalition without taking sov right. All you have to do is keep the pressure on 24/7 -in eve's case 23/7 - and wait till the backbone is broken. Then just watch internal struggles kill off what is left.

Knowing CVA i doubt their backbone can ever be completely broken but if the current pressure on Providence keeps going i am sure a lot of the entities living side by side with CVA will bleed members if not completely stop existing.

Provi has been fun so far. Lots of small gang size fights and plenty of action going on. A lot of gudfights to be had.

From what I've seen, you can't actually kill an alliance by force of arms in Eve. What seems actually happens is you win the morale battle, and the other team just throws in the towel and gives up/splits apart.

I'm not sure if the other nullsec blocs can win the morale battle against providence. A lot of players genuinely like the crazy amarr roleplayers and the little unique section of space they carved out for themselves. I'm certainly one of them.

Looking at their policies, most of the nullsec blocs see "making profits" as their source of fun and reason of existence in this game and plan their empire this way. In Providence the fun actually comes from what you do with your money.

As there is nothing to do with your money in most of nullsec right now, except better ratting ships or making even more profits, of course the other blocs will come to Provi on a daily basis. Its their chance to actually play this game that they otherwise turned into a renter wasteland.

Why are there no gankers, if I may ask?

And I want to know about how it works more than why you think there aren't any.

You mean how you can manage to rat/mine etc in providence without being killed all the time by gankers?

Intel channels, defensive gatecamp and generally not being ********, same as in any part of null-sec.
If you're aware, paying attention and know what you're doing, there is very little an enemy fleet can do to catch you.
You see them coming from a miles away.

+ If you've got some people on, you can swap your ratting ship for a proper PvP ship and go meet them head on for a little fun.

Providence is seriously one of the better place to live in EVE, not because of the space itself, but because of the unique nature of the coalition living there.

(Thought while I love the fights Nulli brings us, would be nice if they could stop headshotting our FC every fight =\ Please?)
