T3's, often cloaky, are still popular with some pilots.

Depends also on what part of space you're talking about. For example, WH space versus Low Sec.

Enjoy

Ceptors are always fun, The buff to procures means to have to pay more attention though

Why would you tackle a procurer solo in a ceptor regardless of the recent buff. You're not gonna kill it Roll

Lowsec resident here. My typical target is thus a T1 (faction) cruiser. I will use every ship at my disposal. A few favourites are Stabber Fleet Issue, Wolf, and Cynabal.

Also for those ratting or missioning in Battleships. A scram is must now since they are most likely fitted with MJD.

Also Ralph...

You have way to much isk. Wish I had that much to loose.

I rat in my PVP Ishkur when in lowsec while I'm waiting for stuff to kill. It handles things just fine.

Use helios or buzzard alt with combat probes, deimos or ishtar or cerberus (all with scram) to warp in.

Ignoring the fact that he said solo hunting ratters, not dual boxing;

This is a terrible way to do it. Ignoring the fact that you can d-scan or just warp straight to havens and forsaken hubs, and mining anoms, if you bring in a prober first, you're giving them enough warning time to get out.

Tengu
Proteus
Scythe fleet issue

are probably the three most popular and effective I see these days for SOLO work deep into enemy ratting space.

Ralph's hilarious killboard aside (and big props, by the way, to keep going after that. I'd have gotten discouraged, you have a good attitude.), a good way to hunt ratters is with a T3. They have the golden combination of cloaks and interdiction nullification that enables you get a decently sized ship out into ratting territory.

Otherwise you're talking frigates of some kind.

An alternative is to cloak in their systems and screw with them that way, instead of outright killing them.

Just look at my death Bs setups for the real deal on ratting BS. Raven, Navy scorp, Fleet typhoon are the best alround ai cracking ships for all types and cost the less to lose.

The PVE 'meta' has change in null.

Not that fighters can be enhanced by drone mods, you see a LOT more carriers ratting in upgraded systems. That's potentially good for small gangs and hot drop teams, less so for the solo sub cap guy looking to kill ratters. Your better chance for solo ratter kills is in renter space (and Deklein :) ).

I used a condor to kill one of these: http://web.ccpgamescdn.com/newssystem/media/63963/1/EVE_Online_Retribution_Body_Drone.png

If a condor can go ratting, [almost] anything can go ratting.

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

I think the OP needs to clarify whether they want a ship to go ratting in or a ship to kill people that are ratting.
