between Nyx Steelgamers' 10 second tournament-winning match, and Linda Acheron's underdog wins vs Navy frigates in an Incursus, and 'all the little things' ... it was ...A CLIFFHANGER ...though my commentary at high points was lacking as the camera work became frantic (and both tended to happen at the same time!)

SO I am happy and excited to announce that Nyx Steelgamers will join us on comms for the next tournament--!

as for the technical aspects, with lessons learned and experience comes improvements... the video stream will be clearer, the camera strategies will be more streamlined...

we're also working to reduce the lag between matches, for an overall faster event

That is a very good point, and there is good news: The next tournament will be in Lowsec, with POS support. the staging areas will be in POS forcefields. Get yourself there, and you will be able to participate regardless of standings to other participants, militias, factions, and Concord.

Even better news: a fitted T1 frigate and a fitted Navy frigate will be provided on-site. please send myself or Derp your fitting for both the T1 and Navy frigates as early as possible, and also specify drones ('integrated' series is OK), ammo, scripts, and boosters you want available. The only thing you will need to bring with you are "real" boosters, faction/deadspace/officer mods, and morale cargo.

so after getting yourself to the staging POSes, your ship can be stowed in an Orca (keep it frigates or shuttles please). The tournament won't necessarily be in a station system, so spare modules, refit, refill, paste, and repairs will be provided on-site.

the T2 version award for participants is being replaced with the T1 frigate / Navy frigate service for a few reasons:
-removing an ISK barrier that may prevent participants from using a Navy frigate
-removing the logistics burden of bringing a backup to a possibly non-station system
-avoiding a re-ship situation in later brackets
-equal ISK value hull reward for all participants
-choice between attempting a match in a T1 or Navy frigate after brackets are created
(use the Navy with its better stats, or try for the T1 vs Navy underdog reward?)

this is also an increase in ISK awarded per participant.

if a participant has a frigate remaining upon elimination, it is theirs to fly home ;-)


Linda, your first T1 vs Navy victory was exciting and I did hope someone would achieve it. your T1 vs Navy frigate in your THIRD match was as much of a surprise as the ISK value of the award... and that you began the T1 vs Navy challenge unintentionally makes for an even better story.

Thank you very much for succeeding in the challenge, which I would describe as "sensational."
