Many have tried, most have failed miserably, a few have half assed managed to compile some cool stuff.

I'm embarking on a mission to compile a comprehensive history of 0.0 politics and conflict, and I need YOUR help.

The areas I need the most input on are the early days (2003-2006). If you were in an alliance that played a role in 0.0 during these times, shoot me an EvE mail with your story, or if its tl;dr we can set up an interview on coms.

While early days is what I need MOST, any input you can give would be helpful. The little details are what make the overarching story better and more complete (duh).

HEY CCP - HELP ME OUT! You guys have been around from the start, if any Devs would like to help me on this project, I would be very appreciative.

This is an epic project that is going to take a long time, and a lot of effort. If anyone is interested in helping me, get in touch.

Cheers,
Xezox

EDIT: I do plan on publishing the final product (and hopefully "chapters" as I go along for anyone in the community to access. I'm not looking to make money off this in game or out.

Maybe, you should state where your "project" is going.

If it all goes in your little diary for example, where would be the joy for the paticipants?

Just a suggestion.

Dually noted and addressed, cheers for bringing that up. Forgot to mention it.

This is a very worthwhile project imo and i am going to look forward to any posts you do.

Would you answer a couple questions I have please ?

Are you going to try to cover issues such as what forces were behind the sceens such as using RL monies to fund campaigns or using bots to acquire ingame wealth ?

Or will you focus on "just the facts maam" ?

If you need eyewitness verification of anything ...i will go anywhere and report what i see, glad to help.

The vision I have is two fold: 1) The overarching, grand story of the politics and warfare of 0.0 told in a way reminiscent of a history textbook (but a lot cooler, obviously).

2) Subsections under each of the major "chapters" consisting of first person accounts.

And to answer the other part of your question, yes, I would like to include every aspect of the story that is relevant; RMT, CCP involvement, patch updates, etc.

Add me in game if you'd like to assist.

EVE Null sec has a very...varied and storied history.

It's got both winners and losers, and while you'll never get the complete story behind the scenes, you will get everyones slightly jaded opinion on 'what happened (tm)'.

Alot of the history is quite literally in drama, soap operas and the great political machine in-game between a variety of factions.

From 'my' perspective (and there's probably plenty to start with before 'my time' in EvE...:

The history of Big Blue, Xanadu, etc

1. ISS (Interstellar Starbase Syndicate) and the Great North vs South war.
2. The history of Mercenary Coalition, how it came to be, where it ended up, and what it accomplished
3. Lokta Volterra (sp?) vs the RedSwarm
4. Red Alliances near destruction vs BoB
5. The MAX campaigns, and of course Sir Molle
6. Helmar Agaroths' 'disband alliance' and the mad scramble to take Fortress Delve
7. The MAD Pact in the Drone Regions, how it was intended, how it failed due to backstabbing
8. The many TRI mk whatever version to their latest inception NC.
9. The burning of Tribute, eviction of the Northern Coaltion
10. BRUCE, vs Pandemic Legion

At some point, normalization of sides will be someone vs BOB/Pets.

Now it's someone vs 'DRF/Goon'

Sides have changed more often than some of the players underwear (maybe even some of the devs).

Thats all the brain power I have right now, you can use EVE-SEARCH.net (i think it is) for some of it, get a VM to visit Kugu's site and register so you dont completely thrash your own computer with whatever junk is on it during errant links.

Update: I'm making good progress with the project so far, but I need help in a specific area.

If anyone has info (or knows someone with info) regarding the origins of the DRF, and could help me with seeing the DRF/NC conflict(s) from their perspective, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

This looks like a really interesting project.

EVE has already such a rich history, it is amazing.

Wait, I do believe Goons had a "little" something to do with the killing of Bruce.

Will be watching this space. Eve history is the best history.

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Not the whole history but.. pattern is obvious it goes up it goes down. Empires vanished and created started elsewhere become big, destroyed "internally" rinse and repeat.

Why dont you send Jade Constantine a 32gb USB memstick and ask him for an abbreviated version in audio?

You'll probably have to send a second stick, but well, there's a story there.

Making an honest effort at not being biased lol.

You can do some research here: http://eve-history.net

Ascendant Frontier (ASCN) were a big alliance down south in 2003/2004, so be sure to include them in your history.

What would the story revolve around? Is he like a living library of all things EvE, or does he have info about a specific alliance/conflict?

Yea mate I discovered that site and have been chatting with its founder - a lot of info from it will likely end up in my project.

Text walls I can deal with. Early days is where I'm struggling most, so this may be a huge help. Cheers.
