sounds like a driver or video card issue... but it could be a bug, esp if it just started recently (i.e. good before kronos, doing this after.)

I get exactly that issue when particle effects occur heavily, in deadspace sites and when rats detonate.

Try changing some of the effects settings in options.

My old ATI card this this alot. Not 100% sure but pretty sure I've also experienced it on my NVidia as well. You should be able to turn the camera away in the opposite direction and it should go away and immediately come back when you face it again. The duration is about 15 seconds and it should go away completely.

Not sure what causes it, to me it seems like a gfx driver glitch where it sends bloom into overdrive.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

That doesn't make it an invalid suggestion. I had the same issue, and turning that setting off did help. Of course, I pretty much have to play on minimal settings anyway because my video card is so crappy.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I seem to recall CCP mentioning a new option to turn-off clouds. Don't know if it made it in.

The cloud effect, seen in clouds and explosions, has a long history (years) of causing trouble on some cards/drivers.

I had this problem, too. My solution? I upgraded my card and the weird whiteout stopped, finally. So if you're video card is as old as mine was (five years old and pretty mediocre even back in 2009), you should upgrade.

I know, I hadn't ment to imply that it was.
At least eve isn't the most taxing of games, upgrading with it in mind shouldn't be too much of a problem.

o7

Had this a few days ago whilst killing a few HiSec Mission rats, my HDD at the time was on its way out, (slight click of death), was runnin all on max settings, but just put it down to a personal problem that I was having with the HDD

IMO - check all files, run a Memory Checking program, see everything is in working order, then if so.. report to CCP

Hope it helps

I'll sometimes have half my screen white out, usually the left half. When it happens, it goes away after 30 seconds or so. Doesn't happen very often. Not sure what the deal is. But I blame the New Order!

May I have your stuff?

Happens on mine too; I usually have to spin the camera away from the explosion to get it to work

^^ This is what I do.

If you're using the DirectX 11 option in the launcher, it may be worth changing to DirectX 9 to see if that makes a difference.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I get it.... sometimes all the screen sometimes only half.
Its usually only the background, I can still see objects and windows.

I find spinning the screen or zooming in and out fixes it.

Dunno what causes it, seems to be a bit random... I put it down to having a Mac

*wraps tinfoil around whole head*

I heard it was mind control used by the cartels - white flashes are implanting subliminal messages for you to stop ratting in High sec and move to null.

I only get that when I pull too many G's... usually right after standing up too quickly after a game session.
