[Security Question] Does Full API show deleted characters?

Title sums it up, does providing full API show all deleted characters (+information) on an account?

So say 'character A' is deleted. Then 'character B' is made and a full API is made after 'character A' is deleted. Will the API show all the information about the deleted character?

No, your former spai alt should remain anonymous and unconnected to your new one.

Mental Note: Tell CEO about this guy.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Also, no, API keys show only information about existing characters. You can tell by looking at the key creation page: there are no biomassed characters listed there. Another way to check exactly what information you are sharing from a key is to look at an API key checker like this one: http://ridetheclown.com/eveapi/audit.php , or by importing your key into EVEMon or similar.

No, the API only pulls your current information.

Fun Fact, I only learned last week that Biomassed characters are moved to a corp called Doomheim [666] temporarily before being deleted proper.

Actually they will remain in Doomheim forever. Hence, CCP can restore a character deleted 10 years ago if they want to.

I've been in that corp before. Left due to it getting active. Ugh

What happens if someone makes a character with a deleted characters name? :o

Nothing, you get that name and the name is kept for the deleted character as well (they would need to rename it if reviving it again though).

For example http://eveboard.com/global/pilot/CEKTAHTKA

I learned that the hard way....

I deleted and recreated Doc Severide (long story why). I sent 300 Million ISK to my new character (I thought) only to discover I really sent it to Biomassed Doomheim Doc. I thought about putting in a petition but I figured since ISK was involved I would be treated with suspicion and denied anyway...

No, The pilot will not show up on the api check, as that pilot is no longer part of the account. Did you really need to ask this question?

While true, this is somewhat misleading.

If you have characters A, B, and C on an account and then create a contract between A and B and A and C, but then delete B and C, the contract will still exist in character A's contract history. The API won't reveal that B and C were on that particular account, but the relationship will still be established. The same is true for wallet transactions (however, time and number of transactions eventually wipes this clean).

It's also easy to forget that previously pulled API data can, and probably does, still exist in a database somewhere. For example, you have an account with characters A, B, and C. You're new to eve and aren't aware of just how much data aggregation is going on. You join a corporation, say Eve University [EUNI]. At the time, all of your characters are "good" guys and you have no reason to hide anything. You move on to other things in EVE, discover that you love the dark side, and infiltrate a noob corp. They don't do API checks, so you decide you can burn character B without also burning A and C. You execute the operation, biomass the character, and move on. However, Eve University has tucked the information away (i'm not saying they do, it's just an example). What do you care? You're not going back there, right? Unbeknownst to you, The Graduates [TGRAD] have alts in director positions in EUNI, specifically recruiting and intel, and they've pulled EUNI's data into their own database. The Graduates are part of the CFC and, as part of their ongoing relationship with their coalition partners, they share their data (again, just a theoretical exercise). Now, your old API data from 2 years ago can be accessed by by nearly half of all the intelligence organizations in EVE. Permanently. And if they've been infiltrated by some other organization, your data is absolutely everywhere.

If you're going to be doing anything that requires true stealth and guile, you must plan ahead. Far, far ahead. You must be aware of how data can be correlated. Counter intel doesn't necessarily need a direct link between characters through an API pull. They might have you sign up for "auth" (authenticated) alliance services (jabber, forums, etc) and you'll be giving up your IP address indirectly. On an entirely separate account, accessing a totally different corp's services, you give up the same IP. But they've been infiltrated and that data is added to a database. Link established.

Good luck!

I did something similar with over a billion, petition would have been a waste of time. Answer I got back was effectively tough luck.

YUp , living proof of that here .My Original name was flakes but i biomassed him to make sure i got rid of this addiction called eve .Fast forward 6 months/a year or so later and i ask CCP to restore him.Sure thing but the name flakes is taken and thus the name flakeys is born Blink.

Damned addictions ...

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.
