Question about likes from closed threads

No, this is not a thread about moderation.

I'm asking if I get to keep the likes when a thread I was liked in gets closed.

Yes and you even keep them if a thread is removed completely IIRC.

Yes, you get to keep them forever.

The only likes you don't get to keep are those on a posted reply that's been deleted by moderation.

You should be able to like Mods & Devs comments on locked threads. A small way to thank all their locking Smile

I believe I've noticed that I've kept these Likes as well.

None of my posts are moderation-worthy of course. They are just guilty by bad association. This is the truth. I swear.

As far as I am aware you only lose likes if someone who gave you a like on a post un-likes it again. And it is indeed not possible to like posts in locked threads.
Although being in CCL has its advantages: unlock thread > like > lock thread....Blink

Virtually all my likes are from scrubbed comments (that's why I give them out liberally before the comments disappear). The NPC alts usually start it though >.> blaming them.

I would like the ability to "Like" the final ISD post in a locked thread, in the case that I agreed with/celebrate the lock. There are some threads for which I feel this!

Might be different now but from past experience likes were indeed deleted along with the reply.

A couple years ago in a WiS thread there was a very active Flame War which got way out of control. The thread was closed for cleaning by moderation and the majority of replies on both 'For' and 'Against' were removed. Along with that the likes were also removed which was noticed and remarked about by various players.

At least a third of mine are from comments that have been removed via incineration of the relevant argument.

it's a nice way to let people know you agree with them, while not having to waste a post saying that and nothing else. stops you having to wade through a bunch of "i agree" or "+1" posts.

If likes disappeared when posts where deleted or threads locked, I'd have about 4 Shocked

Actually I lie, a sizeable number of them come from OOPE.
