Get creative with a DST tank

A blinged and slaved Impel or a blinged Bustard can get 1 million EHP with heat but before links.

What would you do with this much hp?

- Bait-tank Rancer
- Fly capital support
- Incursion anchor with miners, tractor beam and hacker module?
- Some even stupider stuff?

care to link a blinged bustard that can get 1 million ehp? I'm very curious to see this. anything like incursions that involves sustaining overheating is asking for trouble, but baiting suicide gankers with a couple plex in the cargohold would be funny. Especially with links running.

Trimak + slave + most blingy eanm you can find + most blingy shield invuln you can find + all V is my guess

Or he "cheated" and went with specific hardneers leaving a gaping resist hole...

You can get over a million on either without trying to do a "mixed tank" (though I ended up using mids and lows for tank on the bustard - the impel can do it with lows alone, but requires implants, which the bustard does not).

You do use active hardeners, but the "resist hole" on my Bustard fit was EM, at 98.3%. Not exactly a gaping chasm of pwn - something has to be lowest.

The shield one comes away with a 3600 DPS passive tank, to boot. Roll

I wouldn't call it creative so much as "obvious" and "expensive", though.

Even with a standard T2 fit you can get 200k EHP, 500dps passive tank on a Bustard. Would be great bait to break up lowsec gatecamps, the resists are extremely high as well so once logi hits the field it will be really hard to kill.

In a C6 Red Giant you can easily get them up to millions of ehp with just T2 hardeners. xD
If you use deadspace you can get above 100% resist. (which results in you getting oneshotted by noobships because the game can't handle it)

Sounds like a bug that needs to be reported.

Or trolling. According to my understanding of how resists work, even if you stack several humonguous resist modules, you can't get above 100% ever.

You can now.

You are right that you can't get above 100% by stacking modules because the resists get multiplied * .
BUT: that's only true if those modules provide less than 100% resist.
*more precise: you multiply (1-resist)*stackingpenalty

Example:
The Pith-B Type EM Ward Field has 59.5% EM resist and gets a 20% bonus to that when overloaded -> 59.5%*1.2 = 71.4% resist.
The DST have a 100% bonus on the effect of overloading so you can get 59.5%*1.4 = 83.3% resist.
In a C6 Red Giant system you have a 100% bonus on overloading which gets the Pith-B on a DST up to 59.5%*1.8 = 107.1% Resist.

-> You get oneshotted if you recieve damage. (Probably some sort of fail safe CCP build in to prevent things from getting indestructible)
