Generic Notifications

Not really a newbro, but this is definitely a newbro question for which I cannot figure out an answer.

Is there any way to turn off Generic Notifications? I like my blinky neocom icons, but I've noticed that my portrait blinks every time I undock from a station. It's a bit annoying. As far as I can tell, it seems to be linked to the Generic Notification in the logs telling me I undocked from a station (O rly?). I've tried searching for a way to turn off those notifications, but have failed to date. Anyone successfully turned off this blinky without shutting all of them down?

TIA!

I don't believe there is a way unless you're a dev and can meddle about in the code.

What you're probably getting is your character notification about a skill having finished training, the skill queue being inactive, or getting a kill right or something you have yet to review. 9 times out of 10 just opening the character sheet will tell the game that you "read" the notification and it'll shut up.

I'm pretty sure your portrait shouldn't blink just because you undocked. Xercodo listed the possible causes I also know of myself.

Hmmm... will have to test this on a character with an active skill queue. Perhaps that is the problem, I do seem to see the issue with characters with inactive skill queues, although the one who has the active skill queue currently has blinky notifications turned off. Thanks for the hint, I'll check that out.

If your character currently has no skills training it will blink. Pretty sure it will blink when you jump as well.

Right click on portrait -> Disable Blink Notifications

I think this disables all blink notifications, but I will check.
