The Next Step in T3 Customization

T3 Cruisers were designed to offer a new level of customization and utility with their subsystems for people of WH Space. After the patch allowing T3's to change subsystems in space via an SMA in a pos we got a taste of what T3's could really do and what they were meant to do utility wise, be able to adapt to their environment and their engagement. Of course the balance of T3's is questionable, but ignoring all balance of subsystems for now for the purpose of this article, I offer up the next level of customization T3's could enjoy. Tech 3 Cruiser Rigs.

For the past year, Nanoribbon prices have fallen from 6.25 milltion peak in June of last year 3.6 million in June of this year. The price has steadily fallen, and since about December has fluctuated around the 4 million range for about 6 months now. Now cheaper ribbons mean cheaper T3's, and with more and more people in WH space, this means more ribbons as well as other T3 components that industry people magically turn into my now very cheap T3's that are the hallmark of many WH space engagements. I myself love my T3's, and being able to fit a Proteus or Legion for 400 million is nothing to complain about, the market of WH Space in all of it's randomness and fluctuation has been slowly moving lower and lower. Now for C5 groups like my alliance, nanoribbons do not make up a large amount of our isk in the scheme of things, most of our isk comes from the blue loot from escalation battleships, and ribbons offer a little bonus, so while it does affect us, it does not affect C5-C6 space as much as the lower class space where ribbons make up a good portion of your isk. Again, cheaper T3's, fine by me, but to add something new to the market to give it life again is needed. Also beside the market standpoint, WH Space has become very stale, in terms of new things to do, new things to explore both in space and in industry.

So why T3 Rigs? T3's are famed and advertised as versatile ships with their ability to change subs, but they lack the ability to change their rigs which means that I can not refit a C3-Site Running Auxiliary Nano-Pump Legion to a Trimark Legion for PvP, I must have another legion. Oh big deal, I must spend a little bit of isk to get another legion, yes I could and do this, but with T3 rigs you would remove the need for another T3 because you need to accomplish another job, instead a nomad in WH space could roam the chains in search of PvP with his cloaky buffer proteus, while switching his subsystems and rigs to a site running fit when there is an empty system and isk to be made. Of course I am sure you can think of the possibilities and implications of this, as well as the quality of life improvements as you need less T3's because you can swap the rigs out.

So market wise what would this do? Well, it would create a greater demand for the already falling components that go into T3's. If designed correctly it would not spike the T3 market by a large scale, but offer a little higher demand for T3 components. It would be designed like their subsystem counter parts as their function is generally the same.

As always feedback is both needed and appreciated.

I think T3's are being looked at for a bonus so they can unfit rigs without destroying them...... which is basically your idea, but without using ribbons

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.
