Trying to win an argument here.

Ages ago there used to be on all destroyers role bonus's only

coercer example
role bonus
50% tracking
50% cap use
-25% ROF

all destroyers were like this, then they changed em to a per destroyer skill level bonus so you had a reason to train destroyers past skill level 1. (unless you wanted the interdictors)

looking for any patch notes or pictures of this role bonus before they changed it to a per level skill bonus. or even old youtubes showing this description.

All i can find is them removing the -25% rof

I started around this time of year in 2007. They had an optimal bonus of 50% and the 25% ROF penalty. They all had two additional skills that were level based. I.e. - tacking and damage for thrasher. Tracking and cap useage for Coercer. If it was different then that before 2007 I don't know.

Edit: Catalyst had tracking and falloff. Cormorant had a second optimal bonus and tracking.

yeah i didnt remember the exact bonus's but i just remember it was PURE role bonus. not per level skill any screen shots would help but your testimony is good :)

I thought it was a role bonus of tracking for RoF penalty, then you had your two per level hull bonuses.

2007 was basically when I started so this could be poor memory combined with the memory of a noob's perspective of the ship.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

i dont remember the exact bonus's it is just an example. im looking for a description screen shot in 2010-2009 somewhere

this was during quantium rise and apocrypha they definitely had only role bonuses and no per level destroyer bonus's. i remember this because i was arguing that they should get a per level skill bonus so that there was a reason to train destroyers past level 1

They always had role bonuses and destroyer bonuses.

Coercer for example was:

Destroyer Skill Bonus:
10% bonus to Small Energy Turret tracking speed per level
10% bonus to Small Energy Turret Capacitor usage per level

Role Bonuses:
-25% rate of fire for all turrets
50% bonus to optimal range for small energy turrets

However, destroyers were widely seen as total trash so no-one trained the skill past I. Also the Destroyer skill is now one of the gates for the Cruiser skill, whereas before it was not. Also,

They had poor slot layouts.
They a too big sig radius so cruiser guns could hit them.
They had too few hitpoints.
There were not so many frigates around for them to murder.

They were good for salvaging and not much else. This is why nobody bothered.

I used to run a 7 nos AB MSB thrasher with a scrambler. Was a good cheap tackler for BS who had webs since it capps them out and would rep continuously.

Gimmicky though, i admit.
