Doing a Sisters of EVE mission, side-tracked, and looted 4 Scientists?

So I'm like 8 or so missions into the Sisters of EVE story arc and it has me go to this Serpentis facility to do something. I end up fighting 3 waves of enemies (was intense, I had to warp out twice) and afterwards, having completed the mission, I noticed that like 20 different parts of this facility are targetable.

I'm curious, so I target a piece and blow it up (which is slow). Then I target the next and blow up it, eventually blowing up around 1/4th of the place over ~10 mins when all of the sudden a container pops out afterwards and I loot it - it contains 4 Scientists.

I don't know what I just got, so I head back (not feeling like wasting 30 mins to blow up the rest of it) and turn in my mission but I notice I still have my 4 Scientists.

It won't let me sell them like slaves on the market, but I have the option to Find in Contracts.

What are these guys good for, will they die after a certain time, and what are my options with them? It looks like I can get almost 15 mil ISK between the 4 of them in the contracts.

Is it better for me to sell them via contracts (don't even know what contracts are really) or keep them for myself for later?

How do I proceed from here?

Thanks!

Not really used for anything as far as i know.
Some might collect them, and some might be needed for missions, but in general.. try to sell them if you want, and maybe your lucky and someone will pick them up Smile

They are just trade goods, commodities, or used for transport in missions - objectives. People collect them as well, such as Exotic Dancers, though Scientists are not a high demand item.

I'm in it for the money

Just buy a couple of exotic dancers (male), pack them up with your scientists on your next PVP expedition. Should make for an interesting killmail.

nothing better than exotic dancers (male) to complete a pvp ship fitting.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Scientists aren't useful or valuable, unfortunately.

Contracts are very handy, but read them very carefully. People pull all kinds of tricks with them. Still, contracts are a good way to buy / sell things that can't be put on market. Also, although I suppose anything is worth whatever someone will pay for it, often people will try to sell something on contracts for a crazy price, just like the market.

Somewhat oddly, scientists will last in your inventory unfed / watered.

Janitors work as well. Personally, I like Tourists! I just imagine them saying "Look! Fireworks!" as my failing shields buckle around them.

What you really need are Militants! Since I have ten Militants in my Cargo Bay nothing get's stolen any more.
